just wondering what will a stock 2200 motor with the 4 speed tranny run on the tracks?

I would GUESS a low 16/high 15, depending on the driver, and the car itself.

The 2.4 from what I've heard can do a mid to high 15, again, depending on the driver, and the car.

I know it's JUST a Cavalier, and I'm sorry if I hurt your ego.

nope. you're thinkin of the ECOTEC. stock auto 2.2s run high 17s/low 18s

A stock 2200 5-speed ran 17.3 this past Thursday

so the car would run 17-18s on a track stock. so when i get my header highflow cat and muffler what would that bring it down to like mid 17s?. also for the header are Pace Setter any good? for the cat i got it off gravana and my muffler is a Magnaflow and intake where can i get one that comes out of my TB so i can take the black box off. with all that done would that drop it to mid 17s

I ran friday at the bash with a best of 16.9@79mph

I have a 5spd with mounts, intake, exhaust, and short shifter. I'd assume you'll run somewhere in the high 17, low 18sec range.

^really? I ran a 17.2 when i first got my car like 3 weeks old with 10k on it. Granted it was my first stick car but i know I can drive it better now. I havent taken it to the track since then but im sure i could cut a mid to low 16 off the bottle.

Did you run witht the 18's on? my pass was with 15''s that were on the car when i bought it and that alone would make noticable difference.

later Jeff.

Yeah I ran with the 18's on. I couldn't get my car to NOT bog down in 1st unless I lit my tires up. I ended up getting my best time launching around 4k. But to give you some light on things, there were a bunch of Z's running low to mid 16's.
