What's the fastest n/a 4door 1/4 mile times?

Last year i ran 15.7 and always hit the rev limiter. i shifted to 4th gear once but loss speed anyways. I always reach 87+ miles, this year i change tire size from 215 to 235 thinking that i would get better traction but it has only slow me down. I can only get 16.1.. ..ohh the tires are goodyear f1 z-rated R17 got them free . should i get my rear tires out and change them into stock ones, could this be slowing me down? i still have a pair of 215s which i plan on using in the front. any suggestions would really help. I got use to being in the 15 second mark , i don't see many 4door sunfires posting here.

I thought the 4door would have been heavier, which would make me slower I just did a search, it's only 15 pounds heavier. I wish i could lose that. lol . Anyways are the bigger tires the problem? they handle great though at high speeds. Im just trying to get back to the 15 second bracket.

it only has 33000 km , it souldn't need a tune up yet. Rksport upper & lower engine / AEM cold air / dual exhaust...RSM 62mm TB.. Front & rear strut bar...B&M short shifter ECOTEC baby
I still wanna know if there is any other 4door j-body in the 15 second bracket?
IT has to be the fat tires....

The larger tires/rims have more rotating mass, which is slowing your acceleration. Although you didn't mention what the aspect ratio is your tire probably has a larger diameter, which would reduce your effective gear ratio, again, slowing your acceleration.

Try going with a 14"X7" or 15"X7"+ rim with about a 50 series tire, such as a 225/50R15(BF Goodrich make a really good drag radial) which has a diameter of 23.9"(stock is 24.9"-25"). This tire will give you a lower rotational mass, shorter dia for more effective gearing and a wider tire than stock, for more traction.

Thanx Jack for that info...now to find another set of tires
Jack ..I found one 205/50/15 (need to find the other one) and I have 2 225/45/17
Which one would you recommend.?..

A 205/50R15might be a little short @ 23" dia. A 205/60R15 will have the same dia. as the stock tire slightly wider section width. 225/50R15 is really what you should use.
The 225/45R17s will have the same dia. but the widest yet, with the shortest sidewall. It will also have the heaviest rotational mass, being the heaviest part of the rim is further out on the wheel. That would slow your E.T.s and trap speed down. If handling, such as in AutoX, is what your after it would be the better tire.
