New times, no new mods, other than changing out my restrictive exhaust tip.

#1
RT - 1.02
60ft - 2.36
ET - 10.78@ 63.73

#2
RT - .84
60ft - 2.35
ET - 10.72@ 64.12

#3
RT - .93
60ft - 2.33
ET - 10.74 @ 64.55
(This kid had an older formula, and ran 12.78@48.54 ..I feel great about my car after running him)

Amateur Class
#1
RT - .62
60ft - 2.41
ET - 10.83@ 64.64

#2
RT - .69
60ft - 2.42
ET - 10.88@ 64.74

I lost traction, and had a little wheel hop, which played a big part in my elimination.

RT has improved over last week, as has my ET.

We'll see what I can do next week.

your restrictive exhaust tip?? those times seem really high for a z24 5spd.

Yes, restrictive. the inner diameter was like 1.5" It was a single inlet, which split into to tips, and where it was welded into 2, it got smaller etc...

And yes the times are high.

I'm still practicing my launch, I'm running pump gas, street tires, and OEM tire pressure.

Aside from these things, I have an aftermarket muffler, stock exhaust, and a short ram intake.

I also just put new plugs in about 300 miles ago, gapped at .060, AC Delco Platinums (OEM plugs)

Stock intake man. stock header, stock TB etc....

I'm trying right now to change one thing at a time, and see what times I can get, because I too realized my times are a little high. I'm hoping it isn't a sign of an engine problem, or anything like that.

FYI...My 2000 5-speed ran a 9.74@72 mph1/8 time (2.2 60') with Intake, cat-back, and motor mounts....thats it.

I still think theres something wrong with your car....either that or you need alot of practice shifting.

I'd like to think I shift pretty damn fast.

I'm hoping I still need practice... but to see such a big difference in times....

I don't know man, I may need some more work on this thing.

track times vary so much. See what other cars are running. like civic si's. If you are faster than them you are doing well.

I cant imagine what your reaction times are if you think those are good - they are actually pretty bad - but he is a newb at the track so they are not bad for him.
