ok what do you guys with stock eco cavys do to pull of your low 15 sec 1/4 miles? i cant get below low 16's with between 50-100 reactions. thanks

Shifting fast and decent launches (low 2.2's) got me consistent 15.1 with Intake, cat-back and motor mounts.

1. strip the car of anything unnecessary. this includes the spare tire, subs, ANYTTHING.
2. air down front tires. how much you air them down depends on where you launch. i would reccomend anything between 20-25
3. air up rears. not as important as airing down the fronts.
4. i launch my 05 cavy at 4000 RPM. i manage to do this and not get crazy ammounts of tire spin, i'm not sure what it is, maybe because i air my tires down to 20 PSI. or maybe its how i launch (if thats what it is i couldn't tell you what i do.haha)
5. WIND ALL YOUR GEARS OUT AS LATE AS POSSIBLE. 6400 RPM IS PERFECT. trust me.
6. rip that shifter through the gears like you mean it. the faster you shift..the better.

after doing all this my best run is 15.237 @ 90 (yes, inaccurate sig) but i'm sure my car has at least a 15.1 in it. also i want to add that i have the 1sv, so my car weighs (soaking wet..haha) 2500 pounds. if you have an ls sport...dont plan on running extremely low 15s..ls sports pack on an extra up to 300 pounds (between power options, bigger wheels..etc) and that WILL slow you down. and also when i run 15.2...i usually for the most part have 2.1 60"s.

i hope this helps you!

good luck =)

And just what do you think your reaction times have ANYTHING to do with your ET? RT is a measurement of the time between when the light turns green and when your tires move enough to break the starting line beam. Your run isn't being timed until after you break the beam.

Post up your entire slip, either scan it or just write it up like this:

R/T:
60'
330'
1/8:
MPH:
990:
1/4:
MPH:

Then we'll be able to better see why you aren't running as well as you could.

You need to launch at a better rpm and control the wheelspin if there is any. A 2.5 60ft is pretty bad for these cars.

so you need to shift higher definately. i'm telling you that will help. and like fieryone said, 2.5 is not good. so you're losing the run within the first 60 feet already. if youre spinning like crazy..launch lower, the only reason i launch at 4 grand is because it works for me. try 3500, if you still spin go down to 3000...it's all trial and error.

your mph is really low too.. for the most part i'm trapping at 90 MPH....so get back to the track and try what we said

another thing you need to remember is that everyone launchs differently some dump the clutch other slip it if they do slip it they could slip it fast or slow you never know and sometimes niether do the drivers (if that makes sense), what im trying to say that is even myself sometimes I launch and slip my clutch slower and don't realize it now I finally caught my self doing it so I know to watch out for it. So if I say I launch at 3500 just dont forget I might be slipping it differently (on top of the tire pressure, tires etc.) just one more thing to keep in mind I hope i didn't confuse anyone with my point im at work and typing fast lol.

97 2.2 OHV is the slowest engine in a 3rd gen. Is it an auto 3 speed too?

60 ft-2.5644

all you needed to post was that ---- take some air out of the tires and have a decent launch and you should hit 15's --- either you are spinning at the line or bogging b/c your 60 ft's are aweful --- and you want to rev the car almost to fuel cut, about 63-6400

My stock 60 ft was 2.23
