does this sound right?

went to the track on Sunday the 11th. the best ran was
60ft 2.328
1/8mile 10.262
1/8mph 72.10
1/4mile 15.764
1/4mph 91.14

I made 7 passes all but one where 90-91mph trap speeds, is my 60ft killing my time that much? i see other cars with the same 1/8 and 1/4 mph running a lot quicker.
anyone get some input.
btw those 7 runs make 11 total with the car.

you should be running around 15.2-.3 with that trap speed

Its not so much the 60' that stands out to me as the 1/8th mile time. It seems slow even for your 1/4 et. Meaning somewhere after the 60, the car might be laying down a bit, then picks back up after the 1/8th mile. Of course the speeds indicate your making a fair amount of power and that its probably not laying down. A 330' and 1000' time might help point out what happend inbetween, along with what you might have done with your shifts?

lapeer dragway's timeslips have the 594ft only. That time is 9.638. my shifts are at redline, and are fairly quick, shifting into second has a lot of spin, as well as third. Lapeer is a poopy track. i know the spinning in second and third is hurting me, but would it be that much?

youd be surprised. there was a Slowbalt SS running at the track i go to a few weeks ago. i raced him. he had 15.7 @ 90 mph with a 60 foot of 2.5
so spinning does hurt you

generally speaking, a tenth in the 60' can be worth from 1.5-3.0 seconds at the top end of the track. So by that standard if you cut a 2.1 60' you'd be running 15.1 or so, which is much more in the ballpark of your trap speed. With a better 60' time your trap will probably drop a little bit to the 89 range. If you could trap 90-91 with a good 60', that should be good for high 14's. Work on your launch, and the 1-2 shift could probably use some tweaking. Even when you think you're shifting quick, sometimes you'd be surprised by how slow you are when you really nail it.

now that i look at the other slips my buddy in his redline best 1/8 time was 10.03, his quickest time was a 15.03. we both spin in second and third gear.

A quick tip is to use your stock wheels. Do not go through the water box either because your stock tires don't need to be spun bald. You may just want to give them a quick dry spin to get any debris off, and that'll be about it.

thats an idea, but some tracks dont want peebles and whatever else all over the track.
just make sure you dont park in grass and the rocks and watch were you are going in the pits
