Tuesday, September 27, 2005 10:39 PM
Well, im finally going to the track tomorrow, after about 6 months of not going lol. new items include a custom 3" cai, methanol injection and prolly will be getting cam2 race gas about 1/4 full. also have the heatsoak problem fixed with the charger. gonna actually put the tire pressures at about 25 in front since i have to drive them home, and about 35 in back. sound good? ill post up slips when i get home tomorrow, prolly around 11pm-12am. being optimistic im hoping for low 14's........We'll see!!!!

lol

ok first run, not too bad. launched at 3k, nice hookup, bogged a little

second i lost the slip, but it was bad. someone told me to launch at 2.5k, so i did and it bogged BAD, like forward then backward the forward lol. it was like a 15.8 at 90 with a 2.4 60ft lol

3rd run a little better, first elimination round, won this one. slipped the clutch at 4k, nice hookup. vac leaks and funny clutch slipping sometimes then working perfect the next caused the bad time on this one lol...

4th run was the best of the night, but i had a breakout lol, so i lost this one.....launched at 4.5k, slipped the clutch just a tad, very nice hookup, best one EVAR! no bogging, no slipping, no vac leaks lol. good overall run, but should be better IMO......

someone tell me whats wrong lol, i know i should be getting better times than this. maybe i do really need a driver mod lol.....

Going on the last times listed it seems your car is falling on it's face after the 1/8. You had 82.45mph in the 1/8 (is that correct?) but only gained 8mph to the 1/4. Our n/a 2.4 trapped 73mph ion the 1/8 and then 91.25 in the 1/4. That is 18mph our difference. our your sure your clutch was nto slipping? You had a nice 60ft on that run.

Ok that is better. With that MPH in mind, you truly are ok. Your times match up all down the track.

do you have a header? if not, that's definitely the first thing you need to get. Try and find one with a 3" collector and just run a 3" exhaust all the way through, that seems to be what's killing you, you're not able to shove all that air through the system at an effecient rate.

Think of it like this, you're the charger and the straws the exhaust, take a mcdonalds straw and a wendy's straw, blow as hard as you can through the two of them and you'll notice it's a lot harder to blow the same amount of air through the wendy's straw because it's narrower, and it's a lot easier to blow more air through the mcdonalds straw.

Not sure if you've dynoed or not, but if you were, i bet you'd have INSANE torque below 4,000 rpms then your car falls flat on it's face in the uppers.
