Cool, man. Is he the guy with the remote mount setup? I saw pics of that on the thirdgen camaro forums. I noticed you guys are in Reading, and those vids look like Maple Grove. Haven't been there in awhile because of the insane prices now, but maybe I'll have to come up there if I know you guys will be there. I'm always up for meeting new GM enthusiasts.

Yep it was at maple grove on the last day you could run back in november it was PACKED I only got to go twice... Yep kenton is the guy with the remote turbo setup.

Here are my runs
First run
2nd run

Keep in mind this is my first time ever at a track

First run I had 35psi in the tires... and spun them for the 60 foot basically haha but trapped higher than I did in my 2nd run

Second run 20psi in the tires and an ok launch but caught around 3000 instead of the 5000 which woulda been perfect... far from perfect but had fun.

My mods at the time were a CAI... CRACKED head (didn't know at the time haha) 2.5 inch exhaust from manifold back (manifolds on the quad are very restrictive) and thats it... I was basically running stock for the most part.

Since then I got new head, cam gears, chain, W41 chipped ECU, and awaiting for a response from TRS to buy a header from them. Will be getting W41 cams after Incometax time

Then the day was over... so much for getting 4 runs in... I basically paid 25 bucks for 2 runs 3 hours apart.

Oh here are some pics of kentons setup while in the staging lanes.

I am always up to meeting guys in the area who are hooked on GM fwd's There are 2 other Quad4 GTZ owners around here and Kenton of course who can be found racing at cecil or maplegrove.

That's cool with me man. I just want to wait til I can drive around with the windows down! I see you have gone to cecil (sp) already... How is that compared to the grove??? I wouldn't mind driving a little farther if I could get more than 2 runs for 25 bucks in haha.

It's not that bad of a drive. 2.5 hours down because of traffic, but only 1.5 hours back at night. And I've run all my personal bests down there. $12 to race and you usually get at least 6-7 runs in. One time I got 14 runs in in one night and left early because I already went through two bottles and was tired of doing all motor runs, lol.

I'd like to know how the oil system work for the STS turbo.

Seperate electric oil pump.

I saw in the install pics that they take the feed line from the oil filter and they have the electric pump on the return line. But isn't going to cause a surge in the oil return line somewhere? If the pump is big enough, it may pump the oil faster than it's coming in.

another thing, if they would use a ballbearing turbo, wouldn't it be possible to just fill the turbo will oil (like the Sc) and forget and it? I mean, the heat is really not a problem and ball bearings don't need much oil.

That motor and turbo setup is amazing, and the times are kick @ss!

Nicely done!

I would guess if he was still having oil problems, he would have altered his setup. If he was having surge problems (which I doubt) all he would have to do is make a sump for the turbo oil to drain into before the pump scavenges it.

He has been running this setup for a long time so it has some longevity to it and no problems from what I hear.
