awesome first runs on stock 05 eco!!

Ran my car yesterday a few times at Stanton which is somewhat kinda local. Was hoping for 15s and i got them. Keep in mind this is a BONE STOCK cavalier mind you.

Best of the runs for the day:

R/T.....227
60.......2.259
330....6.442
1/8.....9.840
mph...72.78
1000..12.776
1/4......15.245

I also ran a very similar run but it was a 15.270, and a 15.367, along with a 15.372.
My fastest mph for the day was actually when i ran my 15.372.......i ran 90.59 mph

Im happy, now its time to start bringing those times down into the mid to low 14s

congrats! if i'm not mistaken, Mandy (LambOfGoddess) hit 15.2 her first time out as well, and she now runs 14.8/14.9's.... You'll get there, just takes practice and some well chosen mods.

Nice! We ran similar times when I was stock. I couldn't dip below 15.27. Why don't you come and join the 14 sec. eco club You can do it.

As far as my tire pressure. I was running 35 in the back and somethin like 28-30 in the front. I was trhing rpms between 2000-2500 rpms to start off with, that seemed towork ok. anymore than that and i was just spinning ( need better tires horribly ). I know i need to work on my 60ft. If i could get that down better i know i could run under 15.2, prolly into the 15.1 or so mark. Just takes practice

I had the dash top cover, front dash piece, pass seat, rear seat, carpet, all interior plastic pieces, rear dash cover, spare tire, jack assy, center console, door panels and all that stuff off. Basically the only things left in there were my drivers seat, cd player, hvac controls, and the cluster.

And by the way, my car is about as base model as you can get. No cruise, tilt, power anything. wipers are not the ones where you can set the delay on, its either on slow, medium, or fast.

Nice time dood! Try dropping front tire pressure to like 24-25 psi and you could prolly hit a 2.1 60'!

3 years ago you would have been flamed for saying that you ran 15.2 stock.

You're not the first one and you're not the last one. Congrats, you know how to take off. The rest, well, you just need to shift

Thanks for the nice comments everyone!! Ya, im pretty happy overall with those runs, seeing as how its my first time at the track with this car. Time for some well thought out mods to the motor so i can dip close to 14.5. thats mynext goal anyway. I figure an intake, header, and full exhaust (2.5 inch) should get me close to like 14.8 ish. Im hoping anyway. I wanna beat cobalt ss's with minor boltons so i can laugh at their s/c engines lol.

gutting the car probably dropped your times a lot, since your 60' is not bad but not great.

Your car was therefore not stock at all... stock means full interior also...

Anyway those are still good times, keep on practicing and you'll hit 14s soon enough.

That sounds like a good way to start. I would suggest going with a 2.25" exhaust though so you don't sacrifice too much low end torque.

If I could only get my launches down, I'd be running where I want to be.

Nice time though...

Yeah if you removed all that stuff your car is anything but stock, good luck on the times though, I think youil be lucky to get in mid 14s with bolt ons.

I went to the track last night for the first time. FULLY bone stock (stock Super Duper Crappy Tires, no tire pressure dropped, nothing removed from interior, 3/4 tank gas, basically as close to everyday street trim as I could, haha) I managed to get a 16.2 as my best. I was hoping to break into the 15's, being a 1SV (lightest stock J), but oh well. I'm definitely going to go again and get some more practice. I'll get my slips up and make a post later.

It sucked too, cause I was hoping to beat my friend's Z. 1996 Auto Z24, intake/exhaust. He managed to get himself a 15.8 once after I left (sometimes between 11pm and midnight, so a lot cooler), but was usually around 16 flat while I was there.

1SV model = racing edition

definetly some nice times for stock

after intake, exhaust, header you'll see a nice change in your power.

LambOfGoddess best is 14.8 with an intake, header, high flow cat, borla cat back, motor mounts

My best time is 14.9 with intake, stock manifold, stock cat, magnaflow dual cat back (ick), motor mounts, tranny mounts, fidanza flywheel and spec stage 3 clutch

if you do intake, full exhaust, and lightweight stuff (IE flywheel and crank pulley) your car will be a rocket

sweet times!!! I wish I would have had removed all that stuff when I went to the track. Keep it up and good luck getting into the 14's. My best is in the sig. Just got there yesterday.

Hey squirrel. do you think that flywheel attributes to your good times?
