2.4 sunfire times
Monday, June 05, 2006 5:46 AM
Just curious if anyone has broken into the 15's with a 2.4 AUTO sunfire with NO power adders.

I raced at NOPI this weekend and pulled a 15.8 in my pretty stock sunfire... and that's with subs still in the trunk.

Thats a very good time for a stock 2.4 auto.

Scan up your slip, what was your 60 time and mph.

I knew there had to be someone out there. The thing is, I had 17" rims and subs still in my trunk. Kinda makes me wonder what I could run if I took those out and changed to lighter wheels. Also, I have always run a 16.3 consistantly. I didn't change anything and these times came from nowhere.

not bad at all, especially considering the rims and system. drop those and shave a tenth or two. dont let the 5spds pick on you, us autos are damn near as fast as them

thanks for all the comments and suggestions. I'm not too big on my times as long as they are consistant. I just couldn't believe I pulled a 15.8 when I usually run a 16.3. I like to bracket race, so r/t is really important. Looks like I only have a season or two left racing in this car. The kit is going to be put on this summer and hopefully air ride soon after. Air ride = no racing. Maybe I will eventually get enough $ for my bf to build an actual race car I def. rather race than show...

Who says air rides and racing don't go together? I went to Gainesville Raceway last Sunday for the HotRod Power Tour and Air Ride Technologies had on BAADDD '69 Camaro there that they race.

See the pics in the SE region and the P&M forums. Sorry, I didn't get a shot of the A.R.T. Camaro. Hypsy should have some pics from the Power Tour, when he's done.

Sorry, thats an Impala, not Camaro. What do you expect, there was only about 2500-3000 cars there! But that Impy is sweet!

Thats an Olds DRCE w/ electric water pump and front drive distibutor conversion. Like a ProMod motor in a ProStreet car!

I guess I'm afraid of it blowing out or something... I donno.

That engine is freaking crazy. Someday I want a super fast car, too
