Was that a 16.1 dial-in? LOL. Poor Mustang guy fell asleep at the line from the 6 second head start I think.

This is how you roll a Cavy in a bracket racing....indexed style! Cavy in a 13.00 class

I used to race cars, now I race myself.

The dial in was 10.15. Eighth mile track. Probably sixteen second quarter mile car.

Ah....I still feel bad for the Mustang driver. I hate racing guys more than 2 seconds slower than me. You fall asleep on the 2 step and you get screwed.

That is EXACTLY why I don't worry about making the car faster. I don't make the rules, I just race by them. You have a good lookin' ride.

Yeah actually for bracket a super slow car is best. You really have to be SUPER Fast to track down a really slow car, as well good on the tree.

Yeah I know brackets are better for slower cars, but that's why I like tighter classes. I run a 13.00-13.99 class and a 10.99-19.99 class. The 13 second class is so much more fun bcause even though it's a lot smaller class, every car runs about even so it's all driver ability

^^ 10.99-19.99 is a messed up class

around here all we have is 7.50-11.99 (TOP) 7.50-13.99 (MOD) 13.00-19.9 (Street) at the NHRA Track then 7.50-11.99 (Super Pro) 7.50-13.99 (Pro) and 12.00-slower (street)

then we also have a couple all run Box and No box days they were fun to leave my low 11 second race car at home and run my mid 15 second cavalier in haha

I agree I like the tigher class as well, more fun, makes it more about driver.

Brackets give everyone a chance. That's how they were designed.

I was always enjoyed running way slower cars down and since I learnt to race on a pro tree, running a sportsman tree is easy pickin's for the holeshot.

I race some people that have no problem racing slower cars. Then there are others that avoid me like the plague.

if you are that good then it shouldnt matter if you are racing against a 7 second or 17 second car. if you are good you are good, if you suck, you suck

The deal is that they just don't like to wait. Also the finish line can be a crapshoot for both cars. I routinely race cars that are 40+ mph faster than me. It takes a while to get used to it.

Wish we could deep stage where I race. Courtesy stage and auto-start has just about done away with it.
Re: Bracket racing cavy

You can still deep stage on a courtesy system. Just make sure the other guy knows your going deep, prestage both cars, quickly deep stage your car, then wait for him. I've pulled this a few times to throw some of the better leavers off.

ViperRedZed: I checked after you posted that....it IS 12.00 not 10.99. My bad.

This is what Route 66 has for their classes....
-Super Pro (7.00-11.99 E.T.) Electronics Allowed
-Pro (9.50-13.99 E.T.) No Electronics Allowed
-Sportsman (12.00-19.99 E.T.)No Electronics Allowed
-Pro Bike (7.50- 15.99 E.T.)Electronics Allowed
-High School (12.00-and slower)
-The Steve Schmidt Racing Engines Top Sportsman Program includes door cars 7.99 E. T. or quicker. The Top Sportsman class only runs on designated dates.

It sucks racing a automatic that runs 18s when I'm running 13s. Such a big lead to give out.

If you are a competitive car you can count on the fact that they will not give you time to stage deep carefully. They will stage their car as soon as they can to rush your staging. It's like to have to win two races, one to the starting line and one to the finish line. I don't deep stage anymore.
Our Pro class allows everything but a delay box. The video was my first round in Pro.

ALWAYS make the other driver stage first, even if it takes 15 minutes.

it pisses them off and they break their concentration. red lights gallore.

be careful tho, some track officals get wind of what your doing and they'll DQ you.

You are right, some drivers insist on staging last. However since I usually leave first I like to stage first and get the car up against the converter the proper amount. The faster car gets a little more time. It works for me.
