Sunday, September 16, 2007 3:07 AM
well so i went to rock falls raceway saturday, sept 15 with ihavenolife000, 03supercharged, wasas9, and 2NVUS4U. it was my first time ever at a track, so there was quite a few struggles from me but it was great had an awesome time all the guys were cool and we gotta do it again oct. 7th

now im just wondering if these times are good for a 2.4 mods in the registry ill get the time slips scanned when i get the scanner hooked back up.. well here we go

ok ok take it easy, maybe 2 off those runs i missed a gear and gave up, and one of them was a by run in eliminations, so i just took her easy and threw her in 5th

there was a bunch of 15.0 slips when i was still playing with the launching cuz i sucked at the beginning of the day

lets just see the real stuff

oh ya!!!!! p.s. that run cost me winning the bracket race i had a dial in of 14.80 let off the gas at the end and it still wasnt enough to slow me so i broke out all the guys were yelling at me when i came back and were like ya shoulda let off earlier, no worries tho i still won a trophy through the other part of the racing.

i also lost my other 14.7 time slip, iirc it was a 14.78 so its not a big deal cuz the one slip i have is better, and we have plenty of video coverage of all day... i dont even want to post up the beginning of my day, i was horrible

watch out for falling times oct 7th, ill have some new goodies, but as always i want to keep her stock bottom end so we can see what a 2.4 is really all about

u say it as if its nothing .

ive never hit 14's.15's,16's, or 17's till that day as i said it was my first time at the track, never been there with any other car. once i get my slips scanned i will gain the number 4 spot in the n/a 2.4 top 10, that means atm i have only fully built 2.4s ahead of me in that list (spots 1-3) granted brian was on low compression... that just means next time ill have to relieve him of that spot, if i wasnt so unexperienced at the track i feel i could have pulled it off but i just wasnt pro at launching, and that killed my times. next time tho i shal have new cams, p&p on the head, with HO valve springs, cuz revvin to 7k is ok for now on the secret cams, but with the new ones id really not like to have valve float. also next time i wont be so nervous and n00b, and i actually plan on messing with my tire pressure, this time i just had it at 28.5 psi and left it cuz i was having fun and trying to practice launching and get that lower and more consistent.

all in all i guess im happy haha actually im damn proud of the beast , had a few people in staging lanes saying how impressive the car was, they couldnt believe me when i said no, its not boosted.

Nice times!! I really need to get back to the track now. Question you bypassed the AC? How exactly. Belt runs from crank pulley to Alt???

ya, on both my z's i have it bypassed, the green z i am drivin now and ran the 14.7 with i have a aem alt pulley, so a 365k5 belt was used, but for the stock crank and stock alt u need to pick up a 345k5 belt

regular routing

and the bypass routing via my mspaint skills

Are you gus going up there again OCt 7th? How far away is it exactley, your not talking about Roack Falls North Dakota are you? I wish I coulda went with you guys, maybee next time... just let me know where and when, and I'll see if I can make it.

Your doing pretty good... I hate bracket racing and I'de probably just keep it to the floor even if I knew I was going to break out, but thats just me.... keep it up man.

haha ya, well the dude was in my side mirror so i deff shoulda slowed down but whatever, and its in eau clair wisconsin, its not that far away and it was way fun, way worth it. and u should deff join us out there, it was like honda city, we deff need more j support. also im pretty sure i had one of the fastest n/a(at least 4cyl) cars there i really dont remember any civic or teggy or anything that was in the lower time brackets that wasnt boosted.

and anthony maybe when im back in IL we can hit up 66, i think u need some nice times there..asshat

Nice times man!One thing though on the bypass,I did the same to mine and it squeals sometimes because when you bypass, the rib side of the belt ends up on the tensioner.Does yours squeal at all?

no, ive never had it squeel, what belt did u get? if u are running a stock pulley set up, and listened to some people in another post where they said the 345k5 belt is too tight use a 355k5 belt, then id guess the belt is too lose, and i switch it up with a 345k5 it was a bit hard to get on but it does fit and u do want it tight. if u are running the 345k5 then idk, maybe try a new belt, but ive never had a prob

a `14.7 is insane with a 2.4. NA 3400 V6 guys with 2nd gens have a hard time hitting 14.7s due to torque issues. I'd have been lower 14s if i had the right tune, injectors, and a non @!#$ty transmission.

ya i wish ya coulda stayed man, i wanna see that thing run all out. hopefully u can get it all fixed up and good for next time

Well i got 3 weeks to do it. Injectors and tune will take an hour. Transmission about 6 hours.

Very nice times, considering your running almost a full second faster than me with only a few more mods; Im also an auto though

I was disgusted with your 60' times at first lol, glad to see you got it down to a 2.2. I think if you can work on that and with more seat time youl be able to pull mid-lower 14's. I guess I can atleast be proud of my consistant 2.2 60' times in my slow pos

Get that turbo on!!

bah turbo... im having fun atm, trying to get the 2.4 close to where the n/a eco guys are on stock bottom end, and i agree soo much i need more track time and better 60's. i need a bigger set of cams my power dies off where i dont want it to, i should have them this weekend, just sux i have to swap back to the 2.3 powering steering, cuz i wont have time to get the intake cam to my step dad or a machine shop to get the hex in it
