alright. i dont think its really all that cool to race stock cavaliers lol. but my buddy has a Z24 2.4 twin cam auto and i have a 04 ecotec 5 speed. and he just thinks his car is so going to kill mine cuz its a 2.4 lol. its just getting annoying. so id just like the satisfaction of knowing and not having to race him. i tryed searching the race fsection but i couldnt really come up with anything. i might have been searching the wrong stuff. sorry if i did.

doubt that, we can go on and on but u say one thing im gonna say the other cuz my stock z24 auto beats my buddies 02 ls sport eco and he has intake and a short shifter... so as i said this discussion can go on and on but there isnt a real answer that will ever come about
i've raced a z24 numerous times over and over and he got owned.

do you accually think an intake and short shifter make that big of a difference?? honestly.
honestly its an age old battle between the 2.4 and the ecotec and auto vs 5 spd. to many biased people and if said owner can drive a 5spd, not saying you cant drive but just giving an example. the only thing that'll prove anything and get you a 100% true answer is to race and see.

i have a 04 eco with a auto and my frien has an 01 2.4 and it was a side by side race. the only trouble the auto had was off the line and top end but in the 1/4 mile there almost identical.there both a mid to high 15 second car from the factory with a driver that knows how to drive. and dont be afraid to take it to the track and lose i have a ln2 and ecos and ld9's eat me for lunch everytime i go to the track.
Drivers race....... thats it.
I still think that 2.4's are technically a little faster.... but there soo close it always ends up being the driver that determines the win so good luck trying to prove anything.
oh ya.... THECAVYZ24........ your on crack.
are 2.4s alittle faster? i think so.....but a stock 03 5speed cav blew my auto Z away when we raced...so to the original question....the 5speed eco will win
5 speed has a slight advantage, but when it comes down to it, it's a drivers race...
