It is actually. There is a n/a one around here completely stock h22, runs high 13's.

Not at the eighth mile, it is still probably making only like 50tq. LOL

To the original poster, i have a solution. I know im opening a can of worms with this one and will probably get flamed for being a 'cheater'.

Put smaller tires on the front. This is the equivalent to getting taller gears. Get yourself some steel 14's or 15's and mount some DR's smaller diameter than stock on them. The extra rotational mass of the steels and the smaller tires should increase your acceleration. I wouldn't reccomend this for the quarter though, since you lose top speed in favor of quicker acceleration.

LOL

i must have been a really good driver, specially because everyone knows the M45's max flywheel HP is 230!

Chris

That's what I was thinking. I only had 10 more HP and was cutting 8.5's in the 1/8th mile.

Get the whiz.

It's oh so cheesey!

i just looked at your mods too. knowing the JDM H22A and the fact thats its been turboed too, and youre only .3 seconds slower. and this things in a featherweight civic???? id say youre definetly the better driver. H22A (2.2L) that came in JDM (and i think EDM) Accords and the JDM only Type-S Prelude came done-up from the factory w/ 220 HP. the 2.2L ecotec shoemaker-american engine, just 140.

11:1 comp and 22psi? i dont think you do know the specs, what is he running, 130 octane?

And to the original poster.... you both suck at driving....just hope you can become a better driver before he does. For comparison my 96 Z24 AUTO with an intake ran a 9.8 in the 1/8th, so you, sir, have some work to do.

Well we went to the track for the second time and I was able to get out a 9.3 the H22A turbo ran the same until a better drive got in it and started running 8.8 in the honda. Since then I have added a 3.0 pulley and also an HPtune. I will get some bfg's to help in the spring. But I guess what I really need is more practice practice practice. Any thoughts on launching from 2nd?

remove the seats quite easy to do make sure your spare aint there in the car with you. stay low in fuel no more than 1/4 tank. no extra speakers and crap. You wanna win you need to be serious.
Your traction problems well sounds like alot to do with driver not just car you can raise the rear just for the track day and get the weight more up front. I even clamped my front suspension down once in my old ride to beat the more powerfull faster ride. You dont want the other to no your tricks try out some things on your own and when you got him beat you bring it SUPRISE now he's unaware. Most important be creative and have fun.

That will be considered after motor build.

Re: Help the newb beat a H22A

To the original poster:

If the H22a is in a EK / EG or DA, I'd say you need some serious power to help you. BUT if the H22a is in a Prelude, then you may have chance. The Prelude was the heaviest coupe platform at the time it was built.
I noticed in your car's Bio that you had lowered your car. Being that in a drag race your camber settings maybe way off. You need to get as much of the negative camber out as possible. Zero is good. You need allot more chassis stiffing. Strut bars are okay but chassis foam, X braces and floor braces go farther. Now what tire PSI where you running?? What tire make?? I recommend that you also look into coil binding the springs to prevent suspension unloading.
The H22 will out rev you, and VTEC will also let the upper RPMs breath. Your best advantage is to pull ahead when his turbo is lagging. If you have an intercooler spray it with NOS.

Think CO2 for the intercooler, and N2O for the motor would be better.

H22's don't out rev me.

The H22 is actually an imported JDM motor put in a 92 honda 2 door accord with a turbo kit strapped on at 4psi. I think for now the best thing for me to do is better tires and more practice. I don't think I can do any more power adders until I have the motor built. I will start looking into more bracing.

My comment is business. How about lowering your car a couple inches. See what that'll offer.

I would love to know how one goes about spraying a company........

NOS is Nitrous Oxide Systems, which is a division of Holley.

N2O is Nitrous Oxide, a chemical compound

Spraying N2O into your intercooler is a waste of money, CO2 is a much more cost effective.
