I need tires Fastest 1/4 trap speed 103.94

I went my local track, Island Dragway yesterday night. It was cool in the mid 40s and I had my new Profec b Spec II adjusted to 10psi. Well now its time for some drag radials, because it don't hook. My 60' and 330' times were horible. These are my best 3 out of 7 runs.

60' - 2.218 2.376 2.396
330 - 6.259 6.507 6.551
1/8 - 9.376 9.590 9.625
mph - 81.36 82.36 82.19
1000 - 11.996 12.179 12.230
1/4 - 14.204 14.367 14.434
mph - 103.79 102.94 103.94

if I'm not mistake you bought Azenis a while back didn't you? Azenis are known for being complete garbage for straight line performance.

Yeh....They worked good on 7 psi, but they don't like 10 psi. For an everyday driver I wanted a tire that had good handling. I think a set of 14inch drag radials are in the future I was launching at 2500 for most of my runs 2000 bogs and 3000 wheel hops.

I'll see your 2.0 60s from your Azenis and top you by .2 to a 1.867 from my BFGs

A 2.0 60ft is only good when you want 13s. I've noticed it's really hard to get Julius into the 12s on a 2.0 and damn near impossible with a 2.1

Azenis are a Auto-X tire sold as a all around performance tire. They are not nearly soft enough or flexible enough in the sidewall for drag racing.

exactly. They are a fantastic tire, but they are not a drag tire by any means

not to mention if it was mid 40's the track is gonna be slick and cold. no matter how many cars you race down it, its gonna be cold. even if the sun is shining.

It may be slick but if I can make BFGs hook at Byron's Hangover Nationals (held on January 1 if your wondering LOL) he should be able to make a GOOD TIRE hook at 40. I know I've made the tires hook at GLD even when it was around 40 and snow flurries were starting to fall racing in mid November. You can get traction if you use a proper tire. Heck I'll even let him use my BFGs to demonstrate my point of how much better they are than Azenis.

I checked out the BFGs and I think I'm gonna order a set. Through the Chevrolet Dealership I work at the tires would cost me $95 a piece plus 6% tax and a PA $1 tire tax. For rims I'll just use some "free" steels that we have in the basement.

I also think having a open diff isn't helping either.....

If I could get my 60' and 330' down the car should go high 13s.....maybe 13.8....I'd be happy with that!!!
The car is a stock engine with a HRC Stg II 16g set at 10psi and HP Tuners.

Hey man I ran that 1.8 on an open diff so don't count it out. It definitely isn't the best but you should still be able to go faster on it.

I know that Jeff Filkins used to pull consistant 2.0 60' times on 225/45/17 Azenis tires, and even a few 1.9's. He said they needed to be heated up good first or else they wouldn't hook. In fact he is the fastest 2.4 to this day on real street tires using Azenis.

You need the drag radials

I pulled a 1.90 60' on BFG radials, same setup you have...

Stock engine, stock axles, stock motor mounts, stock suspension

Hahn stage II Profec B at 10 PSI

13.2 @ 107

yeah a radial will help wonders. when my car was still all stock with a home made turbo kit at 10 psi i was running 13.00 all day long with a 1.8 60ft. once you get the radials though when you heat them up you will need to launch alot higher. I was launching mine at 4000 with that set up. not saying that you wont break an axle though. i never did but its always a posibility.

The BFGs are getting ordered tomarrow

I have till the end of Nov. to redeem myself.

If I can pull a 2.0 60ft, I'll be happy with that........for now....lol

There are no good cheater slicks for the 14in wheels. Only 15+

my buddy runs them in his 3400 supercharged 2nd gen and runs 12.2 with low 60 foots

my other buddy runs them on his srt-4 (not the same size..but same tire) runs 13.1 with 1.8 60'

very nice tire.

Oh yeah I forgot about M and H LOL. I looked at the other brands and didn't see anything.

I still prefer my BFGs to those just because they're a hella bit cheaper.

X2 - exact reason why I went with the BFGs ($190 pair)

I'm telling you man...

I pull just to the outside edge of the water box after driving through,
drop it into second, pull the E brake
bring the the rpms a bit side step the clutch and pour into the gas...
As soon as I see a hint of smoke down goes the e brake and spin out of water box.

I always double check with a quick blip of throttle and drop clutch again, sure enough it won't spin
Then I line up and I like to shallow stage, but thats up to you.

I run about 16-18 PSI in them...
