Is that what your using? If I'm not mistaken you was using HP on your All motor setup correct? Hows the new setup coming along?

The true test of anyone's ability to mod is not simply following the path of least resistance. That only provides you with average power, those that make extraordinary power are inventive, experiment based on research, find solutions to what the rest consider impossible. There was a time before Hahn Turbo kits and people still boosted the ecotec. People still found a way to tune before HP tuners. Even before all of this there was a dedicated group of 2.4 and 2.2OHV modders on this website that without any aftermarket support still found ways to make power. People like Scrufdog that built a 2.2OHV first generation cavalier into 13s. He didn't have any way to reprogram the engine computer at all, there was no aftermarket parts for such a car, yet he did it.

Seriously I have to laugh at how pathetic you really are. The Hahn kit practically spoon feeds you horsepower theres so little effort you have to make. If you can't get by with everything handed to you and already done, you really shouldnt be messing or changing anything on any car period.

To me theres nothing more fun than @!#$ting on Japanese cars and their douchebag owners with a Cavalier

Yea I used to make fun of everyone else when I had a cavalier....then I bought my civic. I run what turboed cavaliers run all motor w/bolt-ons. Its awesome, I still like to see fast cavaliers. I have alot of respect for fast ones. Its just how Hondas are like Legos...everything works in hand together. Don't have to worry about will this work, will that work. Everythings been tried, you know what to do and what not to do.

BTW you moved to to totally new league, cobalt. I still want one, the 06+ motors are strong as fawk! Handle awesome, brakes are great.

Most of the fools that had to replace engines are the same ones that insisted on running M62s past the maximum rpm rating. Along with that they also were insisting that running 12.0 AFR is ok because theres no knock. Well 12.0 is too lean on that motor and those that feel the need to run it higher than 11.8 usually pay the price by melting #4.

The LSJ engine is strong enough to run 400whp without issues with a turbo, same as the 2.4 eco, the L61 at least in earlier forms wasnt good internally much past 280whp.

No, i mean like, snapping timing chains, have cyl sleaves hit crank shafts, oil pumps shattering, cams breaking, one way valves in heads clogging, lifters failing causing (over time, guess the noise wasn't loud enough to hear?) valves to hit pistons, water pumps failing, causing the motor to over heat, and pistons gaulle to to the cyl wall and ceasing ...

And best of all, this was all with in the GM 3/36 warranty.

I went on SI, it goes in to nice detail.... but so far, just in the states, there has not been enough to recall the engines completely (other then the Injector recall.) and there are a number of TSB's for the oiling problems\ lifters.

Been on the cobalt forums for 3+ years and never saw anything blow the motor in most instances other than blatent abuse in a manner in which I described in my last post. If it was that much of an issue im sure there would be more examples of it. The GM ecotec is a solid performer that is just as good as anything else in the world for a 4 cylinder application.

It doesn't matter how good a motor is, there will always be a certain percentage of them which will fail. Given how most of the CSS crowd knows very little about tuning because they bought the car pre-built, and HPT is readily available, I'm surprised we done here more than we do about grenaded LSJs.

Haha, you guys are funny.

Fastest car = who has the most money. Period.

If I had a spare 1500$ my car would run 11.50
If I had a spare 3000$ my car would run 10.99

I could do the same with a Honda or even easier with a DSM or F-body...

All you need is time, knowlegde and money and you can make any car go any speed. You guys have certainly seen them turbo dodge caravans on youtube... just a perfect example of what a bit of time - money - knowledge can do.

It's build ups like that that I find most interesting. Anyone can pick parts out of a book and make a LEGO car, but to make your own setup, well, that's how you really learn to tune.

I love all the honda fans that think nobody has been close to 200 hp na. I just respond with the 1989 Olds Cutlass Cialisis 442 190 hp 20 years ago. Yeagh the Japanese really own the fwd/ 4 cylinder market. Gm really didn't care about the 4 cylinder market in the 90's, cause everyone was buying trucks and Suvs which they make alot more money on than the 4 cylinders. Now Honda's trying to play catch up with the ridgeline which is a joke of a truck. I don't care who makes it every company has a pos, and most make good cars. Anything that runs under 10 seconds is a serious investment and I think deserves respect no matter what the car rolled of the line as.

So you'd rather change your timing chain? Cost and labor involved, i'd rather change a B-Series belt than a LD9 chain.
