Well everyone has to start somewere.I get better everytime I go out.I think I need to get a full header back exhaust and get a real CAI then get it hp tuned and Im pretty sure I could hit mid 9's,if not better.

you need to start worrying about the wheel hop! that is how axles and transmissions break. Good luck none the less.

Well if your profile is up to date, I'd say getting tires that aren't bald would help, huh?

the only mod you need is the driver mod. 2.2xx or better 60's would get you there.

All stock...........lol.

Try and reduce your wheel hope as much as possible....it really will kill your driveline. Read the Sticky in Wheel/Tire forum, even tho its about Street tires vs. Slicks there is good info in there.

Like its been said you just need to keep practicing, my best is 9.6 in the 1/8 (mods listed in profile), but when I started racing the best I could get was a 10.2. It takes time and lots of practice.

What RPM are you launching at? Tire pressure? Your 60 foots are quite frankly terrible....haha So you need to work on getting the car off the line.

Are you just poping the clutch?

With more practice and some technique your car should be in the mid 9's as it sits.

The more info you give the better we will be able to help you.

I usually launch around 2,000 rpm's,and even if I ride the clutch off the line I still have gay wheel hop.I didn't mess with tire pressure, but Ive got some used tires,I just didn't put them on my profile(the falkens are gone),waiting for income tax for some new tires.I really don't see what else I can do to make the hop go AWAY.........Ive got all solid mounts and everything. And I know tires have a little to do with it but I had 17's on it the other day with some michelin pilots and it still done 3rd gear scratches.and still wheel hopped real bad.

You should take some videos inside your car! I wanna see if your wheel hop is as bad as mine, and everything of mine is poly! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J_0ngF3xWZ0

Try running a smaller diameter tire in the front, see if anyone will let you borrow two 14" Wheels/Tires for the day.

Bigger sidewalls are your friend, most smaller series tires have to stiff of a sidewall which can cause wheel hop as there is nothing to help absorb the energy when you launch. They will also lower your rotating mass of each wheel, which is a good thing as well.

Also if you are doing big burnouts in the box, don't, just a quick spin as you roll up to the lights is all street tires need. I've found I get off the line alot quicker if I just give them a quick spin insted of spinning them alot.

Well I took it out again last night and I got a 9.864=My best so far.The only reason why,was because the track wasn't prepped and I just spinned all of first.Instead of having wheel hop.So the less gripy the track the better for me?And I also got a 2.288 60 ft.So im getting there.I let the front tire pressure down to 25psi,it seems to help a little. But yeah I don't think I will run those times again if the track is right.

No, my @!#$ was stock, with bolt on's

and it had a tad more miles on her.

now if you want to compare a loaded Z to a striped eco, why not do my 95? there we are only ..04 off from each other.

and I was not trying to be a smart ass, but the tq of the 2.2 is... lacking.... could it be from were PE kicks in... maybe...
