lol fair enough...

I was going to stick with All-Motor for next season, but I'm almost 99% positive its going to get a turbo over the winter.

Ben,

I think your birdies have misinformed you..haha

Unless your talking about Paul and accidently wrote Newt? lol

My best run to date is in my sig. I was speaking hypothetically in my above post.

My car is not cammed but I'm almost positive that with a set of cams and some more tuning it would easily run in the 13's.

I have one more track day this season, the car is getting re-tuned as well putting my bored TB back on (been having alot of problems with it). Got a another few tricks up my sleave, so we will see how close I can get to 13's with my current set-up (mods listed in reg).

Still pretty sure I'll be running boost for next year, but we will see.

That motor build sounds very interesting, hopefully everything pans out cause that sounds very promising.

my "bolt on" 02 Z24 ran 13's......

Ecotec + Full Bolt-Ons + Cams + Slicks + Tuned = 13's

And That was done with a 2.4 back in the day..... before tuning was around for the "J" cars.

Yes, we all know your Bolt-on (Supercharged and Spaying Nitrous) 2.4L went 13.7.....

Forgive me if I'm not impressed by that.

get the head ported too newt, you can hit a mid 13 that way I bet. no need to touch the block.

that would say something seeing as you could possibly do it minus not one, but TWO power adders.

Cody Star: I don't have to beat it to prove its unimpressive....

....I'll let this real world example prove it for the people that clearly are confused right now....

Ben Wenzel Jr's car makes:
193whp
149 tq
All-Motor
His best run is 13.4

Taetsch Z-24's car makes:
205whp
210wtq
Supercharged and on Nitrous
His best run is a 13.7

Ben is 3 tenths faster with 8 less horsepower and 61 less foot pounds of torque.

See how that works now??

PJ: I really want to go turbo for next year. At the same time I'd love to build the head and run in the mid-ish 13's just to prove a point to alot of the people on this site. But I build my car for me, not for the people that think 13's are only for boosted or fully built cars.

if you don't, I will. I have an 04 that's begging for a repeat-treatment of the early skwirl days. your results makes me that much more confident in my theories as to what the eco is capable of in the right hands and in the right model J.

My car?

MY car makes 350 HP....
Stock 13.4's.

As for my old Z24...

The N2o was not working... I think I have said that before.

It had 134K on it.

If it was "easy" why has only one, and a race car on that, not been able to beat it yet? (NA)

Once more... IF you want to compare cars... why not race car to race car..

Ben’s VS Karo's?

My first 13 sec pass was with the stock pulleys at that. (4.5 PSI) but with only 34K on it.

All I said was I ran 13's with Bolt on's.

Fact.

But Alas... back to this game.

But when it comes down to it, I really dont care... at all.

Your missing my point, for a car with 205whp and 210wtq a 13.7 is not impressive....sorry. Regardless if its a race car or a boosted car or a all-motor car

If more people built All-Motor cars, and more people actually set them up for drag racing and spent some time at the track there would be a ton of All-Motor cars quicker than yours.

Sadly thats not the case on this site.

Also if you didn't care you wouldn't be bragging in numerous posts about how fast a car, that you don't even own anymore, ran the 1/4 .

Have fun with the GTO tho, I noticed its as fast as Bens All-Motor Ecotec....cool.

I find it hard to believe that GM would release a kit with no reflash for the ECM, and furthermore, that Todd Miller would let an engine he helped build not get tune.

Once more, Apples to Oranges.
DD VS Race.
Weight.
Mileage.
Dependability.

YOU would be better comparing Jons supercharged Eco that runs 12's to my old car.

... YOU "Noticed" something that I told you?
That happens alot around here.

It’s OK. I know where you’re coming from

I see you have yet to "notice" anything I have said......considering you keep ignoring the main point of this entire thing.

Anyways...I'm done with this.....some people just don't "get it".

Cheers.

newt... bens race car weighs like 2500 w/ driver. chris's daily driven street car likely weighed 2800-2900 w/ driver. see how that works?

bes race car has a tued coilover suspension w/ bone-jarringly solid rear mounts and runs on lightweight drag rims w/ drag radials and pizza cutters out back. chris's daily driven street car had a street set-up suspesion. odds are with the 60's the car pulled it was using good tires though. see how that works?

they raced at completely different tracks. different parts of country. different track preparation. different times. different air. different sea levels. see how that works?

further more you're statement of people need to get to tracks and practice really doest old much water. paul ran a 13.6 his 2nd time ever racing on a drag strip.

ben's car weighs less than that, closer to around 2300lbs.
the skwirl weighed 2500, and I did no weight reduction. 2620 with me in it and 1/4 tank of gas. I actually weighed it, no estimates. I pulled the car onto the scale, got out and looked at the number.

Also, I'm still waiting for the answer as to how the 13.7 from Chris and the 13.1 from Karo was done "with no tuning".
M45 GMPP kit doesn't come with a reflash???
Todd Miller doesn't believe in tuning his engines???
