Need help with Endurance car
Sunday, May 15, 2011 4:18 PM
The car is a 2001 Cavalier Z24, and I need help with the gas tank. It needs to be moved into the trunk, and I'm not sure what to do with the filler neck. I haven't taken the tank out yet, but I'm pretty sure it won't fit with the filler neck attached. The race is next weekend so I need to get this done. Has anyone done this? Any tips? Thanks for the help guys.

You need to purchase a fuel cell, do not put the factory tank in the trunk.

Why not? Would be able to explain your reasoning.

Very unsafe if the car flips over or receives major damage its highly likely a factory gas tank will rupture. Its a safety thing, we've enduro and circle track raced for like 20 years. I've never heard of taking a stock gas tank and mounting it in the trunk very very bad idea. Fuel cells are'nt that expensive. You can run an inline pump from a What can't you run it in the stock location? http://www.j-body.org/forums/read.php?f=48&i=29494&t=29463#29494

^^^^^^^^^^6talks about running an inline fuel pump from a f-150
