circle track times

To all you dirt track guys out there, was just wondering what a good lap time would be on a 3/8 mile high bank dirt track? We are running a 2001 cav with LD9. Last night was the first night out with this car, we normally run an escort. Ran consistant 22.1-22.2 on our laps. Car looks fast, but dont have cluster in to see MPH. Does that sound ok?

Thats about right. I run on a 3/8 semi banked clay, and our times are anywhere from the high 21's to the low 23's, It varies with how the track is though. I run a 98 cav. 2.4L all stock.

my 94 cav runs mid + 21's 3/8 semi banked clay. 2.2 highly modified w/ 5 speed. the damn neons are at high 20's and low 21's. neons are turning laps as fast as back of the pack v8 pure stocks. mid 20's laps you are hitting around 85mph on the back stretch. neons run high line no rev. limits and bounce off the corner walls crazy fast for these little cars, i just don't have the balls.

how do you run the car without the cluster gauge? cause im running a 97 2.4 and was messing around with the wires and messed up the passlock system and had to get it rebooted with the gm tech 2. I'm running on 1/3 dirt .... dont know about lap times but i have been switching between 14 and 15 inch tires 195 series and running 3rd gear and the 195 on the 14 are a bit better. Was thinking of running some 185 to give me just a bit more rpm

Just unplugged it. We are gonna get i in there eventually but its not in there now. We are runnin 14s. Tried a 195 but got a lot of rub and destroyed a new tire in first heat out. Tried a 185/65/14 in last heat and had better and most consistant times. Wd are all stock too except for a wai. Ki da limited on modification due to track rules. Plannin a header and few other things but it is a stock class. Any ideas on stiffening up the suspension?
