I used info off of v6z24.com. I would like to make this a sticky as it seems this info is kind of hard to find. I remember another post about using internals out of the Isuzu Impulse or Geo Storm I belive. They have stronger internals 4.10Fd and different gearing I believe? Anyone with useful information please feel free to add to this and I will get it added to this first post.

This is definitely not a definitive list more a guide. I know I read somewhere that my car has three different final drive ratios( the 3 speed auto). I'm pretty sure my car has a 2.78 FD not the 3.18. I'm also pretty sure our Grand Am racecar had the 2.78 also cause we would run it in low gear and that would come out to a 9.03 gear ratio with the 3.18 or a 7.90 gear ratio with the 2.78, which is more likely I think.

Anyone have the gear ratios on the 1995+ 2.2 and 2200?? Other than those I think this is a pretty complete list for the J-Bodys

Maybe with a swap of bell housings. But its an auto, a good chunk of the power you'd gain by being in a better part of the power band you would lose due to drivetrain losses.

Wait wait wait... sooo the HHR /VUE F23's are the SAME F23 that's in the J-bodies? Because getting a hold of the 4.17 FDR would be pretty freaking sweet...

I have a question, I drive a 04 cavalier with the 2.2 ecotec on a asphalt race track in a pure stock class. I've heard that's there is some kind of gear swap I can do to my 5 spd manual trans to give me a better drive off the corners. I race in 3rd gear and was hoping someone could point me in the right direction. Thanks for the help
