I race on a 3/8 mile asphalt track the car runs great for a handful of laps then it wants to go flat, at about 4900 rpms, changed the fuel pump multiple times, changed the coils, eventually going to change the module.... any thing else that i should look at or try and change to see what happens.
take this with a grain of salt
but we run a 1/4 mile asphalt oval with a 95 cav and we had similar issues that included a CEL after about 10 mins of idle
after banging my head against a wall for a week i checked all the connections to the sensors and in doing so i forgot to reconnect the knock sensor and the problem went away
i think the knock sensor was picking up the rocker noise we had and interpreting it as a misfire then retarding the timing causing it to loose power
no more CEL and no more power loss with the knock sensor unplugged
