There was a guy on TV (Car and Driver I think) that professionally FF drifted an Integra, it was white... it showed him drift, looked like the same drift a Silvia or AE86 would do. There was a lot of E-brake use, and it was an Automatic... But later on he converted it to RWD, so yeah...

And I have seen real Japanese drifting, but not on person... On that show Super 2NR TV they had a huge session about drifting, and they had video of them drifting in the streets of japan... there were skylines, supras, silvias, etc... ohmygod i was in heaven. the skyline they were drifting had ~450HP.
I hate to burst your bubbles, I have a 79 chevy 1/2 ton truck, 400 small block...its big its rusty, and I could out drift any of your asses in it.

Drifting is gay. Its not the fastest way around the track period.

The only racing remotely close to racing is rally/hill climb and I've done that too. 2 of my best autocross friends are national hill climb champions.

Show me some trophies and get some respect. I've taken a seasonal championship in my regional autocross club, I've won countless events in my club and other regional clubs, and I'm competing in SCCA PRO SOLO II this summer. I have more trophies then I know what to do with.

If you want to be a ricer, don't post in the racing forum.
so every one you raced sucked? if you hate drifting so much how do you know that you can out drift any of us? I'll admit drifting is not the fastest way around the track most of the time there are however, and this is debateable, times when it may be faster, but in any case it's always the funest way around the track. if you dont like what I post than you dont have to reply to it, for that matter you dont have to even read it!

It's not the fastest way around, it's the most fun way around though. And if you can outdrift me in the nova with your big ass truck, I'd tree myself. Not gonna happen. But I guess you can whack your internet penis better than I can, since there's no way we'll ever see for sure, will we.
All I'm saying is drifting is gay. Its like figure skating for cars. I'm entitled to my own opinion just like anyone else.

besides you wouldn't get so worked up about it unless a shred of you knew that I was right.

What year nova you got? I love nova's, when I was young my dad had a big blocked one that enjoyed doing wheelies Was my favorite car, even after he wrecked it lol
I think after I get my 42' willies done, I'm going to pick one up (year undescided) just put a 383 stroker in it (i've got one sitting in my garage) and maybe a nice paint job, and drive her around daily hehe
As much as i think Drifting is awsome and would love to do it with my car, i think it would be better to go get a '89-91 240SX for $1000-3000 and stick another $3000 to make yourself a fun nice looking drifting machine under 5 grand.

But hey more power to ya if you can make it work with a cavalier.

Just adding some more info about the civic. If anyone has the Feb. 05 issue of Modified Magazine, there's a pic of the Falken Civic with a Silvia right behind it on page 162.

If i'm not mistaken I think Signal Auto has drift civic too

I drifted in both FF and FR cars. i find it easy to start a drift in an FF car but it hard to keep it sideways if your not on a sharp turn. in a FR you can get sideways any where but its harder to maintain control without spining out. anyone who has done both has to admit it harder to spin out in a FF. when i get the right camera i'll post some tapes of me FF drifting to show you what i mean.

I definately want to see some video of that or atleast pix. The closest thing i got to drifting a FWD was pullin the hand brake around a corner in my old 4 door civic. It might have looked cool from outside, but from inside that curb came real close, real quick. Glad i straightened it out

1970 Nova. Wish I still had it. Well, I still own it anyway. It was stolen in '97 and I still have the title sitting in my nighstand.

And no, I don't think drifting is gay in the least bit. it takes far more skill to drift than it does to do racing in the traditional sense. When I'm autocrossing, I don't need to exact every ounce of concentration from my brain to get the most out of my car, but if you lapse in focus for even a moment while in a fast drift, it's all over.
we do most of our autocrossing the Spokane Raceway Park 2.5 mile road coarse LOL Some of the z06 guys have been known to break 130mph on an autocross coarse ahahahahahahaha

Ya at our events if you lose focus for a split second you end up in the ditch. Every event on the road coarse we end up pulling 10+ cars (mostly honduh's) out of the ditch ahahahahaha
Now try going around the track with the a$$ end out through the whole thing. Even if you don't lose focus, you have a good chance of needing to be pulled out of a ditch. I have alot of respect for good autocrossers, but I hate it when they get the autocross snob complex.
when i get my laptop fixed ill post 20+ videos of me drifting ( not just in a front wheel drive car but in my old 240) it is fun really fun. and if you learn how to control your slide you can avoid some kinds of accadents. and not all front wheel drive drifts need an e-brake. ever heard of a faint drift ( its where you turn the other way then turn sharply back to the way you want to go. it does work i have videos of it ( only bad thing is there on my laptop witch got a bad virus )
Re: j-body FF Drifting!?!?

If your good with an e-brake it is quite easy to do fast donuts. My friends tell me my car looks RWD when I do donuts or even when I drift. RWD or FWD, it just depends what your stuck with.

I've done hillclimbs before

hillclimb is basically a short version of rally, and ya your lucky to keep the car straight for 1/2 a second before going into the next turn. It gets really fun when your on gravel coated tarmak...lol

You know what takes real concentration....being on a 1/2 mile oval with 42 other cars. NASCAR doesn't get enough credit. "oh they just drive around in circles". Ya with 42 other cars that all want to pass you or run u off the track lol.
Go fast, turn left! Yea, not as easy as it looks, but boring as hell to watch unless they're trading paint.

Remember, no paint trading= as boring as watching said paint dry..........
But anyways i can do some pretty crazy @!#$ in my truck when i got my old bald tires on, having about 400lbs of tq is fun...turbo is going on it soon so that'll be 460hp 520lb tq soon. cant wait. laterz everyone. I'll see if i can mess around in my friends ecotech and do some driftin/sliding/ whatever
