i just picked up some 15" rims what size of tires and what kind should i get for them guys???

15" is a good size to go with.... do you want to run "R" rated tires or some good summer tires? when i was in grand bend the car was bone stock and i was on the stock 16" with the stock RSA rubbers.

if you are going to run R compound on 15" 225/45/r15 would be a good choice. you'll have a small sidewall and thats good. now with regards to brands... sorry i can't help you there... but on this thread you'll get alot of people with different brands and how they like them.

For me i'm going with 225/45/R17 falkin azziens. reason being i want to race the car how it is driven everyday.

since you are out of london there are races out of woodstock every 2 weeks or so. come check it out! www.wosca.com

^^ no winter auto x for me i will come out in the summer my red car is parked for the winter and my beater 98 sunfire 2.2 automatic would not be good at all lol

^^^^ you'd be suprised how good your winter beater would be. but anyway... the winter series is over. the spring series starts on april 10th. if the beast isn't out by then you should still come out and giver with the beater... just so you can get a feel of it before you unleash the beast.

First auto X event isn't until mid april though. Just getting the car ready to rock.

i bet the 615 turns out to be a better street/autox tire better get some miles on those tires

Only 3 tires I could see using for autocross, only 1 of which I can run in STS.

Azenis, Hoosiers, or Victoracers. On a national level in street tire classes, people only run kuhmo mx's if the falkens don't come in a size that fits thier car hahaha.

I'm the only one in my area that I know of running 710's mwahahahaha!

^ Thats what I'm talking about. Thats my dream tire/wheel setup right there (unless I could stand a chance of getting even lighter wheels, but they cost much more $$$)

i'd like to run kuhmo's or hoosiers too, but our weather is so crappy most of the time that i've had better luck with street tires, so I just gave up and run in STS

You should come and run some events here in Victoria, B.C...drive to Port Angeles and take the ferry across
I guess you get the crappy weather sticking around on the other side of the Cascades, I think we only had light rain at one event last year. We get a lot of nice weather even compared to Seattle and Vancouver because we don't have any mountains holding the clouds around

Our weather varies so dang much, its horrible. It'll be nice, until its the day of an autocross event then mother nature descides to dump on us. Never fails LOL

I just did a couple laps around the block with the new rt615 falkens and DAYUM!

put the old azenis to shame.

V710 205/50/15 on Kosei K1's

I decided that the 225's just rub way two much at my ride height. We'll see how these work, but I'm not putting them on until mid-season. I'll burn off the rest of the V700's first.

hehehe, i had to get new falkens. I was on the road coarse last year doing a solo 1 type event, and i went around a decreasing radius corner about 70 mph into a slolom (god my spelling sux) and did some really nice donuts , luckily kept the car out of the ditch LOL

I've still got my 205/50r15 hoosiers on 15x7 Eagle polished 5-spokes for sale check em out! They're R3SO3's with a lot of life in them, but they still stick better than anything else(except the A3SO4's or A3SO5's of course!) So I'll just say they stick better than anything other than Hoosiers! I got a good deal on some new wheels and decided to step up to 16's so i got some 245/45r16 Hoosiers. I'll post up pics tomorrow. I forgot my camera at my shop. I took them around the neighborhood last week to break them in according to Hoosier's directions and lets just say the neighbors hate me even more now! If anyone wants some good used 205/50r15 Hoosiers on wheels $300+shipping takes all 4. I just wish I had gotten my LSD in over the winter. And I'm not doing my rollerrockers and my 59mm tb until then though because all the extra pep will do for me is light up the inside tire out of the corners and them Hoosiers are too expensive to waste!!

Finally got to try out the V710's a week and a half ago at our first solo II of the year. It was raining in the morning but the sun came out and I was able to get my last two out of the four runs with the new rubber on. The first run was a bit sketchy because I hadn't had a chance to scrub them in ahead of time, but the 2nd run (last of the day)...



OMG....



...the grip was unbelievable compared to my street tires! It showed in the times too!

I won my class (DSP) by almost 2 seconds over a '00 Celica GTS and a '00 Integra Type R. I finished 4th overall and 4th on PAX out of 25 drivers (small turnout because of the weather). The only cars to run faster than me were an '04 Z06, '03 S2000, and '05 Mustang GT. The course set was quite fast and horsepower dependent (more like Topeka course), so I think I faired pretty damn good.
