Ever heard of tire warmers?

A new company just moved in across the street from where I work. Apparently they invented and have a patent on tire warmers. They basically wrap around your tires and get them hot and sticky without having to do a burnout, which saves rubber and puts alot less stress on your motor. Post if you would be interested in a set of these, and maybe I can talk to them and get a group purchase going.

This is not so much for street tires, as it is for R compound rubber, and burnouts are fun! Maybe more useful for the autocross crowd?

On a more serious note, yes I have heard of tire warmers. If your competing in any sanctioned events you may want to check on the rules regarding them.

In solo2 you can use tire warmer covers which help the tire to maintain the heat it already has. But electrically powered ones are illegal.

There more applicable for use in track applications more so than drag applications I do believe.
