New GP for V6 swap motor mounts!

I have opened this up a little from just running it on the lower mount, because I have had a couple of PMs indicating people are interested in the upper, but weren't ready to get in on the last GP.

Here's the deal:

This is the preliminary design for the lower mount. I am awaiting the first prototype, and once it's fit, will finalize the design. Visually it should be about the same, but until it's mounted up, and everything is bolted in place, I don't want to say it's 100% final.



These will be made of 5mm steel (1/4") and finished in black powder coat.

They will be $75 shipped to the US, $85 to Canada.
For anyone who already purchased an upper, they will be $65 shipped US and $75 shipped Canada.
They will come with the appropriate bolts to attach to the engine, and you will use your existing bolt to attach the dogbone.

The upper mounts will be $160 shipped US, $170 shipped Canada.
The upper mount includes a pair of grade 12.9 zinc plated allen head bolts.

Here is a picture of the upper (this is unfinished) installed on a 3400 (bolts pictured are just black oxide):



Both upper and lower will be $225 shipped US, $235 shipped Canada.

The upper mounts are available plain, polished, or black anodized. Contact me for price and availability of other colors if interested.

I need to get 6 lowers minimum to get this going. I plan on placing the order with the shop by October 12th, and they should be done and in my hands approximately 3 weeks from the time I place the order.

Now update on ETA. Unfortunately, I have to go out of town for the first two weeks of November for my job, and it looks like the mounts are going to be getting here while I'm gone. I'll keep this post updated. I hope this won't be an issue for anyone.

Absolutely. I ordered a few more units than I currently have commitments on, so there are still some available. Just so you know, they will most likely not be shipped out until approximately the 16th, because I will be away when the shipment gets here.

Just a note regarding the fitment of the lower mounts. I can not absolutely guarantee the fitment of them if an upper mount other than one of mine has been used, since I used the geometry of engines mounted with my upper mount designs when designing and testing the lower. Nick, since you essentially made the same adjustment in position that my original design did, I would guess that it would fit your car fine, but there are a few different variations, as well as the use of the entire 3400 mount, which I am not entirely sure of the geometry on. Theoretically, they should all be the same, if proper measurements were taken, but if someone has mounted their engine in any different manner which measurably changes the position of the passenger side of the engine, I can't account for that. This may all seem obvious, but it's always best to make these statements up front, so I don't get any complaints that it didn't fit with someone's modifications.

Awesome, might look you up in the future, for a set, want to build a 3400 sunfire for my wife pretty badly.

Just wanted to make sure... but these will work with the mounts you will be sending?

On another note, when are you expecting to be back from your trip? I'm glad you want to test fit the mounts before sending anything out, just wondering roughly when that will be.

Those mounts should work perfectly, as they are designed to work with the factory mounts. That is part of the reason I designed these as I did.

I'm going to be back in town this weekend, but there was actually a problem with the order, and they may not be there for another week after that. I'll keep you guys informed as I can get updates.

Alright guys, I appologize for the lack of updates, but while I was gone, I had very limited time and access, so I didn't have any info to post, either. I finally got ahold of the shop this morning, and unfortunatelly it looks like the mounts are going to be another two weeks. They had some questions, and had left messages on my home phone, not my cell, so I didn't know until I got back. I'll be keeping in touch with the shop until they're in my hands, and any updated info will be posted here. I'm dying to test fit them so I can post up the good news and pics for you guys, and start shipping them out.

... that sucks, but not really your fault. Engine is ready to be dropped in yet anyway...



PS: Is anybody else who ordered these mounts, working on this swap right now?

I'm going to be working on the swap, as soon as I figure out WTF I'm going to do with my wiring. (2005 and stuffs)
