goodbye .org
Sunday, September 12, 2004 10:15 PM
friday at about 4:00 i was heading to go pick up my nitrous bottle. few cars ahead of me were at a complete stop. guy in front of me locks up his brakes, stops. i lock up mine and slide into him at about 25mph (from 35). damage looks a lot worse in person, hood is bent in half, etc. but heres the aftermath:

so with the the destroyed hood, fenders, bumper, headlights, corner lights, intercooler, radiator, ac condenser, cooling fan, and bent to shiit upper radiator support and behind the driver headlight, im left with but one last option...

say goodbye to the .org?

buahahaha, hell nah. not my style
well i cant claim it on my insurance since im already a high risk driver, dont wanna be for another 5 years on top of the 2.5 i have left to go and insurance for my winter beater alone is 230 bucks a month for liability and i deff cant have it go any higher for the cavy. so now im left with about a $2,500-3,000 price tag to fix on my own to come up with on top of the $2000+ i planned on for rebuilding the engine with forged internals this winter... so this sucks... i need to come up with about 5 k by mid winter. and on $6.75 an hour, it aint gunna be easy. but thats life.

so i started ripping her apart today to see how bad it would be to fix. damage to the frame/support wasnt as bad as expected, so that wont be too too bad. parts is whats gunna get me though. heres all i got done tonight in about an hour. im gunna start pulling the engine tomorrow i think.... i got the hood off, latch out, radiator off, ac condenser out, fan out, cut the radiator support off where it was mainly damaged in preparation to fabricate a new one, intercooler off, bumper off, and headlights out. ill keep everyone updated as i get the engine out, etc.

Sorry to hear about this...

I'm glad you plan to work through it... it might be worth it to put the car on a 'frame machine' or whatever to be sure it is actually as square as it can get...

Anyway, keep us updated, I always like seeing your car...

Just the other day when you had problems with you car I told you crap always happens to you and me.
Damn man, I hope I never mess up mine or nothing.
Best luck and let me help you get back on your feet, I even got another HO mani if you need.

Wow, that sucks.....

You had me going there for a bit. Good to see you're sticking with it. It really sucks that you had started to re-do everything, and then this happened.

Man really liked your cav seen it at thompson a couple of times, and out in mentor. My friend from E 305 said he saw a cav all messed up on the back of a truck. (On route 2)sorry to hear it was yours. Glad you are planning to put it back together. Hope to see your cav on the road next summer.

Sorry to hear it man but I'm glad you're staying. You're car has been an inspiration to me and is the reason I'm selling the 2.2 this winter for a vert. Hope everything works out and you get the car fixed.

AWW MAN!!! THAT'S TERRIBLE!! my heat sunk when i saw the pics....

it was so close to being done too! Is insurance gonna cover anything??? <br>

Re: goodbye .org
Monday, September 13, 2004 6:41 PM
ohh im sure insurance would cover it, but theres now way i can tell them about it. im already a high risk driver for another 2.5 years and if i claim this, ill be for another 5 on top of that. plus i pay out my azz for insurance as it is now... another claim would kill me.

i started gutting the bay today. got the intake mani, throttle, turbo, turbo mani, charge pipes off as well as all the sensors and lines unhooked. the engine is basically ready to be pulled, but i wont have time to do so for a few more days most likely.

and once again, lol...
