Drunk Driving takes another J
Tuesday, March 22, 2005 1:29 PM
Unfortunitly i hoped NEVER to post in this forum but i see things didnt go my way.

I'll start off with the story.

Me and a friend were going to McDonalds on Route 36 ( 4 lane highway with a divider ).
We stopped in the right lane at a red light ( like most people do ) . There was a car stopped infront of us. The left lane was totally open. Out of no where a guy in a Brand New Nissan Murano SUV plows into us . ( There were no skidmarks , so he didnt try stopping ). He told police he was doing the speed limit which was 50 MPH when he hit us. My back window shattered , the seats broke back and i slid into the car infront me.

The driver was arrested minutes later for DWI.

Not only does this suck because i get my license on April 5th , two weeks away ,( i was driving with a person who had a valid driver's license , so no problems there ) but i had just got the car out of the muffler shop because i had my full exhaust put on. And the week before that , i finished installing my koni / eibach combo.

Here are the pictures ...
Goodbye 2k Cavi

Thanks for reading ...

Aw man, that really sucks. As long as you and your friend are ok, is what's most important. Cars are replacable.

Yea i hear you on that one , but it just is bad luck.

I have a torn ligament in my right wrist ( probally from the shifter because my hand was on it ) , and pulled muscles in my neck.

And my friend has cut on his leg and pains in his knee ( he broke the glove box open when he hit it ) , and also pulled muscles in his neck.

Those are minor things compared to what have could have happened so im grateful .

I would think the drunk driver of the other car could definitely be sued in this case. I wouldn't normally sue in cases of accidents but if someone is stupid enough to drink and then go out and drive and then plow into someone without even attempting to stop he deserves to be taken for everything he is worth. I'd check into it, considering the injuries to you and your friend. Like I say, I'm not one to normally consider sueing in any situation but when it is something like that screw the idiot, take him for everything.

Hell yea , ive been out of work for two weeks , my neck still hurts. I still need to go for an MRI. And ive contacted a couple lawyers about sueing and they all said it was the right thing to do.

JDM Sedan : You wouldnt be upset , if the car was blue ?

My GF's dad is a procecuting atterney in Baltimore, and my GF's parents like to sue people now and then, I'm sure I could get you a real pit bull of a lawyer to take so much money out of that drunk that he would have to live in a refrigerator box.

Hey man sorry to hear it. Like they say, cars are replacable, lives aren't. I lost a friend to a drunk driver, it's a hard way to learn a lesson about drunk driving when most people laugh at the commercials.
