Rear ended my an uninsurred mexican

And the "Accident"

Well, I was stuck in a back up going south on I-17 due to road construction. I was at a COMPLETE stop. sudendly I heard tires screatching from behind me.

All I had time to do was let off the breaks before I got hit from behind. Guy got me pretty good too. we had to pull his front bumper out of my tail pipe!

Anyway, what hit me was a 95 Hyundai Elantra driven by a Mexican that did not speek any english and had no insurence. (he probally would have run, but his car had to be towed out of there). Also thought it was kinda funny that the passenger was arrested as an "undocument immergrant."

I now have a '04 Nissan Sentra 1.8 S as a rental car. It's ok. Nice sound system, VERY quiet inside. but not exactally a car I would buy for my self. I just don't like the interior. That and it's a sedan. I'm still a kid at heart, so I would prefer something in a coupe flavor.

Anyway, here are the pics of the damage:

Time for a body kit? Its probably time for a new car, I wouldn't be surprised if that was totalled. Did an adjuster look at yet?

Adjuster looked at it yesterday. He said it is fixable, but will cost about $8,500 to fix. he estmated the car to be worth $7,385 (he gave me the retail price) so they are totaling it.

He said the rear supports are bent, and basically everything from the door jams back & the drivers seat would all need to be replaced. the back seat is just about the only thing that would not have to be replaced. He also said the floor under the back seat is creased. Said he had never seen that before in a cavy coupe.

So I'm looking at 03+ Cavy's & fires. I want a 5 speed Eco!

But on a brighter side, my AGX's & new tower braces are being delivered today, so the new J will be lowered within a week

I sorta resent the uninsured mexican comment. I'm sure white, yellow, black, orange, rainbow, etc etc. people are bad drivers and get in accidents too.

Sorry about the cav man.. I'm afraid now too.

Mine is silver and I almost got clipped by a dodge charger the other day.

Inari Fennec:
What was I supposed to say? The guy that hit me was from Mexico and did not have insurance. I think calling him an "uninsured Mexican" is fits. I could have called him something much more derogatory... Besides, if you wanted something to resent about, what about the fact I thought it was funny that his buddy got arrested and deported for being here ILLEGALLY!!

BlackCav:
My insurance company is paying off the loan (gotta love gap coverage) then going after the other guy for reimbursement.

cannon fodder :
Already have the new car '04 Victory Red Sunfire and I'm loving it! I still can not get over the power difference between the 2200 & the Ecotec

Anyway, lets see...
4/9: Accident
4/11: Insurance company totaled the Cav
4/12: Bought an '04 Sunfire (5-speed) for $7K (talked dealer down from $9K). Overall the fire has been good to me... Had to have an AC actuator replaced (Warranty Repair) and the Air bag light came on yesterday but otherwise, no complaints here

Back when i drove a flatbed wrecker, i had a uninsurred mexican side swipe my truck pop both his pass side wheels and almost removed the door and try to drive away. i followed him with 3/4 ton pickup on the back for a bout a hour befor the cops finally joined the chase that went on for another half hour. only thing it did to the towtruck is crease the fender.

My 86 Z24 was totaled by an uninsured mexican. Both him and his passenger were arrested for no documentation. This was in Patterson, CA. I loved that car so much.
