came out from work on tues night and saw a shopping car had NAILED my car, it must of rolled down the slight slant that the parking lot is on and just hit my car full speed....

the car looks worse then it does in the pics, there is little scratches EVERYWHERE, the dent is huge and i duno if im gonna be able to pull it out, the key hole is slanted and isnt workin right, the bumper is gonna need repainting cuz there is about a billion scratches on it, the right side tail light is screwed up cuz it got all scratched up too

im about to bring it to the insurance company, cuz i think im gonna need a trunk, and get that and the rear bumper repainted, i just dont know if there gonna do it for me without raising my insurance for some reason....

but on to the pics....

i didnt know that shopping carts could do that kind of damage. That must of been a huge slant in the parkig lot for it to b going fast enough to cause that kind of damage

He killed it I bet, ripped off its wheels and dug it a shallow grave.

I dont think a cart did that.. A trunk isnt like a door and with the bends, it doesnt dent as easily.. Bends give the car strength and it looks more like a shopping cart fell from the sky rather jumped over your bumper and jumped way up in the air to reach the top of your trunk. I say go to work.. hold a shopping cart up to the car and see if the top of the car comes remotly to the top of the dent. I say from the looks of it a big redneck truck or something backed the bumper into the trunk.. Thats the only way something could be that high and hit wiyh that amount of force..

I love the car and it sucks it got hit.. But I would try to find out if it was a shopping cart or someone pulled a hit and run..

i did do that, and the cart lined up right from where my car was parked, sorta down hill, hit at the right angle to have gained speed down the hill aimed towards my car, but still i dont see how the hell it bent up the car that much.....and besides a girl i work with pulled the shopping cart off my car when she saw it, so i know for shure it was a shopping cart

however i am thinking maybe someone pushed the cart into my car??? i dont have any people who hate me at work, so i duno, but im really pissed about it

I would say that's what happened, someone pushed it into your car, and just because you dont have any people that hate you at work does not mean there aren't people in your town that might hate your car. Thats exactly what happens to my car all the time unfortunately, i've already had my vavle stem caps stolen, little rings on my center caps were stolen, a dent the size of a VHS tape plus various smaller dents in my rear drivers side quarter panel and last year someone had dented my front passenger fender. Oh and my hood has been slightly dented and scratched numerous times. I dont know what causes all of this but i've always treated everyone with respect, I just wish they would do the same to me and everyone else. Tough luck dude, hope you find those buggers that did that to your car.

Sucks bro. But carts can do that. My friends hyundai tiburon got hit pretty damn hard by one of those and the quarter on the car by the door got really banged up. So bad that it dented the inside door jamb. I did'nt believe it until he told me that he was driving when it happend. He dodged one and the other one hit him LOL. It was a storm.

^^^ yes, carts can be nasty.... put them on a downhill slant, with a 60+MPH wind helping them along, and they can bend the headlight mounting frame in a second gen like you hit a deer...I know, cause I watched one hit my 93 cavy a few years back during a tornado producing storm.
D%#@ shopping carts...
97cav22... the dent in the trunk looks like it should push out, but you prolly will have to replace the lock cylinder. Sux though...

damn, ur trunk got potatown3nd

There was probably a car ful of kids driving through the lot so they reached thier arm out the window grabbed the cart and the driver probably drove really fast by your car and then the kid that was holding the cart let go intentionally and it slammed into ur car,IDK

That was definately a forced hit :\ Unless the wind propelled it like a tennis ball launcher propells.... tennis balls :d looks like someone was pushing sumone in a cart and smash.. or sumone doesnt like yellow and had a cart handy.. sry to hear that none-the-less, i'd be furious >:\ hope things smooth out for u (no pun intended)

dude that sucks! a good solution might be to fix it yourself, shave the trunk lock, get it repainted professionally and keep the $!

well i did some work to it myself....got all the scratches off with this compounding wax or something my dad has.....got most of the dent out but there it's still a little wrinkled at the top of the trunk, so i duno i might still let the insurance company go ahead and get me a trunk/paint if they will pay for it

here is what it looks like now, if you look close you can still see the wrinkles

and while i was at it i finally took the side moldings off the car lol

sexy without the side mouldings. >.> I keep them on because well..

I park in an apartment complex... what's there to wonder? They're already pretty banged up.

Trunk looks better... lots better. good job on that fix.
