thanks guys! the way it all went down, it definately could have been alot worse. main road doin 50-55, surrounded by cars. im just glad it was strong enough to hold to the hinges, and didnt completely let go and slide over the whole car into someone else.

and one way or the other, she'll be back, and better than before

what type of locking pins were you using? the sliding lock type, or the key lock type? i always hated the sliding lock type...they look cheap and feel cheap too. the key lock, though, i like. ive got a brand new set of mr. gasket locking key type here if you are interested. shoot me a PM.

i was actually using the carbon fiber locking(key lock) style. i wasnt a fan of my old style ones(traditional) so i switched over. im now regretting that.

but i think i found another set of pins that look really nice and ive only seen them on 1 other car before. just exepnsive!

but thanks for the offer!

Youre gonna have to work for a while to top what you started with

Glad to hear you guys were ok, sounds like the best/worst scenario.... The same thing happened to a friends camry a few years ago, i was riding with... jesus christ it was scary. His car was smashed in the front and the stock latch let go...

thanks guys!

Cavcrzy - ya, the car is now for sale. I cant deal with all the BS anymore!! not that i'll get anyone to buy it im sure, but im gonna try

Rusty - thanks for that link!!

Matt - well, if I have to keep it......it will definately be better! i know its hard to imagine in my mind as that hood was the one piece of the car that i absolutely refused to change. damn i miss my hood!

honestly i think your silly to throw in da towel now..
its gonna cost maybe $500 tops to fix the damage..

and i feel that it was more of a mistake to thin the hood pins alone would hold a hood down.. ppl have soon that this isnt effective ion the past.

i think you should just fix it up and win more shows and enjoy it over all
hell rehab is for quitters!!!

ya, but like noted in my other thread...this project has interrupted enough of my life. not sure why i felt i wanted to go this far with it, but when you can say you have a $35,000 cavalier, theres a problem. and if i keep it, i know ill just keep adding more insult to injury.

now im sure the car will never sell, but i have to at least try and get it gone

Re: EAZY: turbosport carnage - sad day!

Now is that $35,000 including the price of the car it self or not?

Re: EAZY: turbosport carnage - sad day!
Tuesday, August 07, 2007 11:13 AM
ya, thats including the price of the car. my estimations are with the price of the car, not worth, but total $ into it is between$30-35k

and i never thought about it, but hearing that come out of my mouth almost makes me sick!
