The intake tube has a large restrictive metal muffler installed in the middle of it. If I remember correctly, it necks the inlet down to around 2" in that spot. The good thing is that it is easily replaced with a piece of tubing. I am not sure if you will see HP gains from deleting this on a stock car, but it will eventually be a restriction as mods progress. The intake also has a large capped off bung on it that looks as if it was designed for a recirculating BOV. I have already noticed oil in the intake tube. I have 200 miles on the car. A catch can for the PCV system will certainly be needed to prevent oil from coating the inside of the IC piping and intercooler.
This worries me just a little bit for the people that don't know anything about boosted aplications and purchase the turbo coupe.
For some reason i see a couple too many trade-ins or returns because of oil gunking up and causing problems when a simle catch can would suffice.
I've been seriously thinking about getting one as my next car. Seeing that AMS is already on it and that they are giving it some decent reviews just makes me want it even more. I'll need to see one up close though, cause the pictures aren't really doing it for me but like everybody says, this thing is so much different when ur looking at it in real life.

those numbers are bone stock out of a small turbo with extremely limited boost and tiny exhaust. i'd say 206whp and 247 wtq with just a boost controller is pretty darn good.

To me it's the lower power numbers mixed in with a lousy 30mpg highway that blows big floppy donkey dick.
they arent mind blowing numbers, but they were never claimed to be for the turbo 4 anyways
I'm not saying the power output it does have SHOULD be higher, i'm saying for the power it DOES the MPG should be a hell of a lot higher.

Genesis Coupe - 210ish, 30mpg hwy.
notice the problem here? Yes i've taken into consideration that it's RWD vs. FWD, but drivetrain should not make that large of a difference here when there is a 50 hp (give or take 5-10hp) difference in power.

a car the size of the genesis is not expected to get that high
comparing a cobalt to a genesis is apples and oranges, not the same class, not even close
and the funniest part is, the base genesis coupe is LESS than a cobalt SS and the genesis is better built all around!

The Cobalt SS is not gods gift to the automotive industry no matter how much you love, mod, or(piss poorly) race yours.
A RWD will flat out get off the line better, you are not pissing all over them on the track I promise. You can't get off the line to save your life with FWD and minimal aftermarket traction mods available.

Get over the fact that this car is a good looking, decent performing, and well prices piece of machinery.
