sorry man, but I like the Cavi ALOT better. what you did with that car was remarkable... an S2K is just so... plain and ordinary. you see them modded everywhere. you were one of the few tuckin 19s on here with your Z, and I admired that for what it was

I love the S2k. You can find a lot of them for sale in the under 15k range. So much potential for performance, great looks. Mpg is good too. Why buy a brand new loaded cobalt, when you could have one of these? Ok, aside from the 2seats, high insurance.

Well, you went there...so I'll continue. Why a loaded Cobalt, other than more seats and lower insurance cost? More power, less revs required to reach the power (especially compared to earlier S2000), easier streetability as a result, and more support of domestic automakers. However, comparing the two is not really fair...a much more apt comparison would be to a Solstice or Sky.

But why take this thread in such a direction? Let's enjoy the S2000 for what it is, which is quite a lot, really!

More power? I was speaking of the non-turbo cobalt. With options, meets or exceeds 15k.
These s2k's have what....240hp N/A?

Eh.

That wrap looks like the color of cheap Rustoleum primer.

Sorry, not digging it.

Have fun with the dark side (Honda)

You said a "loaded" Cobalt. Naturally, that would infer the turbo engine too. If you're actually comparing an S2000 sportscar to a base Cobalt econobox, well...I don't even know how to address that. Nevermind then.

Picking up a MAZE turbo setup in the near future, that will put me at 400-450 bolt-on WHP and stay dependable... no worries

As for why the S2k, Dependable boosted, Light, 2 seater, and I couldn't afford a Sky RL....

Nice man.

How long does it take to wrap a car? Looks like forever.

I like the wrap because it is very different. Whether it suits MY taste or not is irrelevant.

Congrats on having the kahunas to step outside that shiny, boring BOX!

28 hours labor install time... HUGE PITA...

Thanks!

I guess the point I was making, was (aside from a few problems) why spend $15k for a brand new boring econobox, when you could pick up an S2k. I think a lot of times, when it's time for a new car, people think it has to be just that...a NEW car. A lot of these s2's for sale have less than 50k miles on them. That's a nearly new Honda.

That's not too bad overall, at least when compared to how much time (and money!) it would have taken to prep and paint it.

This wrapping is really interesting! I may wrap my new project car instead of paint. Sometimes I wonder how long it will be before the EPA cracks down on auto painting, as it emits a huge amount of toxins into the air. Not saying I am particularly worried about that, but I can see a time when THEY will be. Wrapping could be an alternative, should that card ever get played.

This is just my personal taste, but I can honestly deal with the red wheels. I like obnoxiously "loud" mods like that sometimes ... BUT that hood rubs me wrong. on either car, I think it's just a little too "tacky" looking on an otherwise good looking car. To each his own, as always though.

im really not sure what i think, think i'd have to see it in person to see if i like the wrap. seems like the cost of it you could have just gotten it painted. and in some pics the color looks like a dull gra like primer and other pics it looks more glossy. im not a huge fan of the whole flat paint jobs. looks like they are in primer waiting on money for paint wether its a thousand dollar j-body or a half million super car they all just look like they are waiting for there paint job. the rims i kinda like, maybe a bit too dark for my taste on a dark colored car, but not horribly out of place. im glad you changed the color of the hood vents. the red just didnt work, made it look like it was a 90's car.

While I like the IDEA of the wrap, I just don't favor the chosen color.

Ehhh.... Well I'm not feeling the color of the wrap. I think black would have been the way to go if you're going to have red accents. The wheels are dead sexy, but the red hood vents don't look right IMHO.

Nice car and I'm sure you'll have fun with it.
