some of you might have heard a little while ago that the jalopnik famous rat rod BMW went up in flames about a month ago. well good news IT LIVES on . the builder just posted this to his facebook page. thought i would share it with you guys

This seriously just made my week.

My hear sank when I saw the fire photos. I have him as a contact on Flickr and there are pictures of it burning down. Painful pictures..

I am excited for the end result. If anyone doesn't understand this car.. then they don't understand the passion behind car building.

and to azn. he seems like an awesome guy really ayed back from i have seen on stance nation. i cant understand why he still gets flammed

man i couldn't go thru all that work to rebuild it. id have to start out with something new.

Glad he is rebuilding it. This is my favorite car, hands down. He lived as my wallpaper at work while people hated on it, I smiled. Guy gets mad respect from this corner.

any build pics or pics of what it looked like before the fire? got me curious seeing as many apparently hate this car. This is the first I've heard of it.

This makes me happy. I can't wait to see what he does with it.

and it couldn't make me happier. 99% of people would have scrapped it and started something new. That why i love this guy, he has truly bonded with this vehicle more than anyone has bonded with any other vehicle. as he stated it is more like a family member/best friend than a car and i can see why.
