still have the cavy, but got a new project
Wednesday, July 13, 2011 1:26 PM
keeping the cavy and planning to make it a full autox car. got my struts just waiting on coilovers then hoping to supercharge to make autox a little more fun. but just bought this over the weekend and for now just going to daily drive it, but i plan to put a nice set of staggered offset wheels on it and either do a supercharger on the factory v8 or 2j swap. let me know what you guys think. its a pearl white but i wont be able to get more pics for about a month cause im currently in fredrick, maryland working. as soon as i get home more pics will be uploaded. any comments and advice welcome! thanks in advance!

sorry i thought i had clicked on "other cars" but was on my phone and was in photos and media. i apologize!

Yea the more i've been looking for parts for the SC the more im wanting to mess with it! trying to find a set of wheels i think will look good on it, and i think i found them! i've always loved staggered RWD cars and i couldnt get the setup nor the look that i want to be rockin' in the cavy, so im more than likely going to go with leaving the cav how it is and playin with the SC. i'll have more pics up soon on this thread when i get back home from maryland!

I want one... in black. I say do the 2J swap. Then turbo it.

1UZFE? Big single turbo setup will do nicely on this engine.

Looks amazing already. New shoes will be cool though.

Get that front lip repainted would be one of the first things I did though considering the wheels on it now aren't the worst looking.

that would be true, IF it was an sc300 (2jz-ge) 3.0L i-6, but the OP even said that he thought about a supercharger on
the stock v8 (1uz-fe) 4.0L, as Tony has pointed out.

The point, from how I read it(with common sense), is not that it HAS one, but that it comes with the option from the factory. Wouldn't be much of a swap considering it would be a DOWNGRADE from what he has now, and would only be putting in another stock option motor.

do a 97-00 front bumper swap, and get rid of that big white single exhaust, and nice low offset wheels (18x9.5 +15 and 18x10.5 +12 are PERFECT. I've been looking at SC400's myself ) and you'll be set.

I'd de-badge it and then re-badge it as a Cavalier.

Looks like the guy did a really good job masking off the exhaust tip when he re-painted it.....LOL

Other than that, it looks good.

Because SC400's don't come with a 2JZ-GE in them as already pointed out. Going with a 2JZ-GTE swap is not as cheap as you think it would be. You start wrapping up a lot of money fast. Sure the motor can be had fairly reasonable. Is it an auto or manual?

sorry its been so long. just got back from maryland and have been driving the sh*# ouf of the SC. I absoultely love this car! its the 1UZFE v8 auto. after talking with some friends that know enough about lexus and toyotas, i've been told that i should stick with the v8 regardless b/c it is a SC400. thinking about buying another SC300 i recently found forsale and doing the 2jz head swap and doing a big build on that car. but the SC400 runs great, handles great, sounds even better, has amazing handling, and rides like a dream! even for a lowered car it rides so smooth! been looking at staggered wheels and i think i've found a set, but for now here are a few pictures i took this weekend when i got home.

Is that a home depot front lip? It's all wavy.
