What years and models did the 4.3 HO come in. I didn't know they had a high output version. BTW i'm looking at an s10 ZR2

Personally, I would pick up a Blazer with the power and covenience package (I think that's the name of the packages). Throw in a 4 speed auto, and sunroof and you can get a decently equipped Blazer for about $23,000 - $24,000. I would avoid getting an Xtreme, especially if it serves no real purpose for you, I mean you're paying an additional $3000 - $4500 for dress up on the Blazer right, well that cash could be saved and used for other purposes. I don't know where it is where you live, but Blazer Xtremes are about $27,000 starting here and they don't sell to well. To pay that additional cash for a slightly lower standing Blazer, with foglights, Xtreme badging, racing stripes or flames, and slightly better suspension isn't worth the money the Xtreme cost in my opinion. That would be like buying one of the "limited edition" 04 Cavaliers because GM slapped on Blazer racing strips and a Sunfire Sedan spoiler on it.

However, this is just one dude's opinion and I never claimed to know alot about vehicles in general.

I sold my blazer for a GTP, the blazer was cool an all, but in the end I @!#$ hated it.

I just got rid of my 97 Z24 for an 05 blazer... of course if you want an 05 you have to get a 2 door...

but i love my blazer, other than the @!#$ty gas mileage.

The 4.3 hauls pretty damn good, the options of AWD, 4x4, and 2WD definetly come in handy... you cant haul large things with the back seats up, but when they're down its got quite a bit of space.. The interior is very nice, its a very capable vehicle, it rides sooooo smooth. Itll tow 5000lbs too if you get a non-zr2 one...

I cant say anything for the GTP as ive never owned one, but thats what i can contribute as far as the blazer goes. Happy buying.
