I got a call from the tracker and my 2005 GTO gets in this week and Im anxious as hell! I found this video of a black 2005 which is exactly what I ordered I think the ls2 sounds so good. I have to get these taillights also I think they look great with black. Anyways here's the vid:

Just got done putting Powerslot rotors all the way around and C5 pads in the front.. but yours will have bigger front brakes from the start. .

True. But there is no better buy than an 04 GTO at the moment. The rebates and prices are incredible, and the machine you get for that price is the best bang for the buck.
My dad's had a 98 and 2000 C5 Vette's and I've driven the tires off of both of them, and the Ls1 is an amazing powerplant, with an abudance of aftermarket support. I thought the stock C5 with the 6 speed was a missle, I can't believe the 05 GTO will beat a standard C5 in the quarter, Im anxiously awaiting.
My pops has to drive it for 2 and a half months, (GM employee) and then it's in my name. Which is a good thing cause i know the breakin will be perfect.
I'll post pics later this week when the car gets here.

that first burnout was sick. just because it didnt make alot of smoke, doesnt means its not a good burnout.

Im sorry but GTO'S are the shiz. They may not look the greatest but they have so much potential. People put nos on those and easily run 10s and 9s, just nos! iv got the vids. The power of the LS1 and LS2 is amazing.

the GTO is not a replacement for the TA.. and was never supposed to be.. BTW nice W6. I love those..
IMO the GTO wont compare to how oyur TA feels. the TA is way more of a sports car.
BTW there are some stock GTO's that are running 13.1xx @105.6 or so.. not trying to start a war because there are soooo many factors that go into drag times.. I am willing to bet by summer that there will be a few in the 12's bone stock.. you know that the LS1 just gets stronger with the miles.. (to a point of course)
Like here in Denver @5200ft. the GTO is lucky to break 15's...

i feel it was replaced... i was so excited to see the GTO come out... and after i raced a couple... it was def the worlds biggest let down. Now i haven't raced a LS2 of course but i was not happy with the ls1 GTO's. 13.1 at 105 is pretty good. i ran 13.2 @109 w/ a 2.1 60' stock then with my mods now runnin 13.1 @110 with a 2.2 60'.. the i def felt the difference with the headers, but didn't really see much of a track improvement, either way i need em for the cam i am puttin in.
I am not really trying to be a dick, i just haven't seen one that has impressed me yet. and to me a car with a stock tire size or 245 seems cheesy for a high end hp car... just like the CTS-V. Plus i am not one for the IRS.. the car is 2 heavy to handle i would have loved to see a solid rear axle under one
