There is a HICAS and Super HICAS steering terminator valve that locks the rear wheels in the forward position.

Look it up on http://www.240sx.org

If not, I have one word:

Wouldn't having steering like that help cornering? I know the back wheels don't turn that much, but still.

if you building a car to drift avoid the hicas. they have been know to go out in the middle of a turn and stay turned.

Well, the HICAS bypass module actually just keeps the HICAS in a fail-mode... HICAS defaults to the straight-ahead mode.

Supernoma:
Yes, it does help out a lot if you're into road-racing, and the 240 (with the CA18DET or even an SR or RB motor) is very capable in respects to that type of motor-sport, it's getting more nods for drifting prowess than anything, and HICAS tends to make drifting difficult to impossible.

Stripped of all options except VLSD in the rear.. One of the few things that you couldn't get in the US...

However, I'd still get the Strange electro locker and dump it in the rear.

If you get it, you can just disable it. but then again you would have all this extra wait. But there are ways to take it out.

I think the HICAS system actually had a different floorpan, but I may be wrong...

Either way, IIRC, you'd have to swap out the entire rear-end if you wanted to ditch all the extra junk. Might jst be a better Idea to find a whip that doesn't have it.
