looking for a car
Saturday, March 12, 2005 8:49 PM
I have a friend that wants to buy a late 80s/ early 90s 4cyl car that is fast. He wants an older car that he can play around with and make it faster. I mentioned the quad 4 motor to him, but i dont know which cars had the fastest motor in them. I think the w41 was the best, but which car had it? Can anyone else recommend a pretty fast car for these years?

not really a 4cyl but I say and rx7 you can find 80's models from 2 to 6k in good condition. Why does it have to be a 4cyl you can find nice 6 and 8cyl from the 80's for a low price too.

YEAH I WENT PREMIUM. SO BITE ME!

he just likes 4cly motors. I guess he gets a high off of less clys with a lot of power.

I agree with Red Assassin! DSMs are awesome. I came close to trading in the old Cavalier for one, but on the way to look at it again he said the turbo was leaking oil. I didn't do it and then her rebuilt it and was doing 11 sec 1/4 mile passes

You'll here mixed reviews about every car you look into. I was pretty set on a Honda and fell in love with the 1g DSM's. I bought my 91 talon a few weeks ago. It has some problems but what do you expect from a 91 for 1400 dollars? I dont regret it at all. I love it. Its non-turbo but still a very peppy car. Its a lot of fun to drive. I raced it in my first Autocross today and god it was fun!

no no no totally agree W/ CharlzO. MAKE him go find a conquest. 2.6 4 Cyl, Rear Wheel Drive, Limited Slip Dif, 8 inch front 9 inch rear Deep Dish Wheels, leather racing seats...The 88-89 conquests were 188 horse 244 Lbs Torque they were beasts. doesnt take much to make them faster then @!#$ either. and you can find em cheap, like a decent one around 1500...rock out

lol, 4th, oh well, im working on it.
