get the gto and put a s/c on it and yoll over well over 450hp probably 600+ is you know what you are doing

and the mustang would still outhandle it....
you wouldnt gain 200+ hp on a supercharger alone unless you spent money on other parts, and then that wouldnt even be comparable........
You're looking at the future of internet racing vidz....

Some damn nice benchmarks, if you ask me. Wow.
Absolutely sick. Anyone that doubts these will just have to go for a ride. The last gen Cobra's were pretty impressive, but the ride wasn't all that great, my 2.5" dropped 10-year old SHO rides better (longer wheelbase, probably.) The new LS platform is 5x better than the SN95/Fox plat.
Plus, it's factory supercharged, so you
know people will be upping the boost on these things almost immediately, like the Cobalt SSs.
For me, the good thing is that it drops the price on the '03-'04 Cobras. (still over $20G's though) And GM will have to counter with a 500+ horse GTO, which means the Z06 will go to 600, the Ford GT will have to be 650.... etc.

for a 40,000$ dollar car the interior is crap. thats my big complaint. The GTO owns it in terms of the interior. The styling of the Stang is nice, but that front end has got to go. Nothing a 3-D Carbon body kit couldnt fix. Although its a sweet ride, it has a lot of shortcommings, especially when you can build somehting with more power for considerably less.
What's cooler..than being cool?
if its a GT500, it should be making 500hp/tq

s/c kit 5k tops
suspension parts 2-3k tops they have a pretty decent suspension from the factory
what other parts?
thats only a 50% increase in power
if you want you can get headers and exhaust but still less than 39k
dude you will not get 200 more horsepower with just a supercharger
end of story
Lunchbox wrote:if its a GT500, it should be making 500hp/tq
why? the 1968 GT500 was only rated at 335hp
and the price... sure, a Corvette and a BMW M3 are the same price, and the M3 is slower, but guess which one I'd take... sometimes it's not about the price

550ish wow so far away
like i said headers and exhaust
and thats not the point
the point is you can make a gto faster for less

maybe if you got a used m3 or corvette.Vette is still 20 g's more at least. M3 is only 8 grand more, but still more.

i laugh at you, seriously
if you get a supercharger, you cannot get headers, unless its a whipple, and theres no way youre fitting a whipple under the hood of the gto.
wtf??
you dont know what your are talking about
why the hell couldnt you get headers???
supercharger is belt driven dumbass
also if you cant have headers w/ an s/c how the hell does a car run when its supercharged genious?
that is very hot the only think thats sucks hard is the rear window on the side. BRING BACK THE FASTBACK.
maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow....... but some day

sorry, i wasn't comparing those 2 cars to the mustang, i was separately comparing... if i had to pick between the GTO and the new Stang SVT, hell yea i'd take the stang!
sorry, forgot this:
that takes care of your rear quarter window concern
Cervinis
So if this is like the cobra w/ a twinscrew except more displacement, you could be looking at 600-650 + ft/lbs with a damn pulley..... This car should own anything new in a straightline including c6 zo6's. Okay, i'm done with the modifiation benchracing

I just spooged myself. Damn now I got to cut out eating and paying bills so I can save and get one.
YEAH I WENT PREMIUM. SO BITE ME!
if that was the production model i would like it alot more
elanor that is
sappyL61 wrote:wtf??

WHIPPLE is belt driven
Centrifugal is not! its like a turbo!
call me a dumbass........
If you could fit a whipple under the hood of a GTO, then it would barely fit
but i dont think you can
and on whipple's site, there is no supercharger for the gto yet.
so you would have to use a centrifugal supercharger which is just like a turbo in design
hmm after looking i seem to be wrong
however, there is no supercharger out for the 6l gto
regardless, it would put the price over the mustang with a supercharger kit, headers and exhaust (not by much but still more) That and it wouldnt be covered by manufacturers warranty.
its ok i personally dont liek the new mustangs though they look too fake, and im a chevy guy

the definition of an s/c is belt driven
whether there is a shaft that connects the belt to the s/c or not
there has to be a belt
turbo uses the empathy from exhaust
now that thats out of the way
hmmm rk sport sells a roots type s/c for the goat based on the 04 model which gains .... drumrole please 130whp and 130rwtq over stock w/ the 350hp engine why thats about 35-45 % w/o headers to the wheels. the LS2 makes more power so if you compare the same power ratio you will be in the mid 500hp range plus some better flowing exhaust and you are alot closer to 600 hp
for an overpriced $5,900 but still im sure you can get one cheaper
also i ddint say anything about warrany i just said faster

if you didnt read my second post there, i admitted i was wrong
and you cannot compare gains from a supercharger on the ls1 with a supercharger on the ls2 that isnt even out yet. They are different engines, you will gain different numbers. The supercharger (satin) is 6 grand. Vortechs centrifugal charger kit is 4 grand. They dont have their numbers posted for theirs. And an exhaust would not gain you as much hp to the wheels as you expect.
