Mx-6??????????

I need the opinions from all Js about the MX-6, particularly the first generation. What do you guys think about them? What have you seen as far as a "modded" MX-6? Any input is appreciated and I thank you in advance.

look up "ford probe"... they are mechanically identical. if you're getting one, make sure it's a turbo model, though

a girl at my school has a turbo mx6 1st gen. i like them alot, at least looks-wise (never drove one)

Yes, I know they are a probe in Mazda clothes. My brother just bought one and its one of those sibling rivalry things.... Has anyone seen a MX-6 that can keep up with a turbo Z24 or ecotec? Didn't want to drag other peeps into the arugment but if you have seen such a MX-6, let me know. I want to help him build his car the RIGHT WAY with little to no ricer parts (I.E. LED muffler tips, BOV style ebay air filters,etc....). Trying to show him he doesn't need all that retarded crap. Thanks.

you should know that the Probe wear Mazda clothes.Ford doesn't even sell most of the parts for the Probe anymore b/c Mazda makes them.Ford used the 626 drivetrain and everything to make the probe.

Yah I tried to get him to buy the V-6 model since I have seen what they can do. The newer generation looks much better as well. And to Kyle, my car came with the taillights and it made more sense to add suspension mods and performancemods than to buy some stock tails to throw back on. The TRD wing(also on car when bought) is actually pretty nice and it doesn't get in the way of the rearview mirror like my 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS-T's stock wing does. Everything else looks real nice added on, especially the lighting at night, which is like silverstar lighting, just cheaper to buy. What's up with the strobe lighting in the cav?? That's the s%^t I am trying to get people to steer away from, not a nice carbon fiber hood that doesn't have some goofy-ass hood scoop on it. But if you would like to talk DSM to get ideas, I'm all ears. The GS-T runs low 12s at altitude and your GSX sounds like it should there by now. Does yours have the 7 bolt tranny? the LSD? These things are important to know before you make too much power.

I think 93-97 MX-6's look bad@ss...It'll probably be my next car cuz i'm sick of J-bodies and i think mx-6's look good and they aren't too expensive. I want like a 95 or so V6 model preferably black or maybe that light blue color they come in, it's sumthin different

John H. (or anyone that knows)

how much would you guess the KLZE swap would cost all together, I'd probably do it at a shop if i ever did it cuz i know nothing about cars ALSO, could you swap the KLZE into a 4 cyl. auto 95 MX-6 or does it have to be the V6?????

you can swap it into the 4 cylinder model, but its alot more work so the labor cost will be alot more....

heres the KLZE

KLZE

but since u have the 4 cylinder model, i recomend the BP-turbo. its a turbo 4 cylinder that should fit right in.. u can find it at corksport

LOL the strobe lights i installed cause i got them free and the cavalier is a peice of @!#$, has no chance at being fast and i didnt care about it. i also put a card board body kit on it many different times to make fun of the car myself.

the gsx is a 6/4 combo, not sure on power, and tracks havnt opened for tiems. but i did gtec it (LOL i know its gay, but its the only option i had and my friend had a gtec) and it went 11.5 something on pump gas and 16 psi. check reg for mods, most of them are up there. all of my future mods are actually installed now though. (besides nitrous).

There is First Gen Probe with an engine swap who is running in the 10's i believe. Badass car with a ton of money put into it. The first gen. turbo motors have tons of potential and built for boost.
