Thanks for all the kind words, ok here's the story which can answer most of your questions....

My dad had gotten the GTO in finally, then found out he did get the promotional job transfer he was expecting to get. ( Regional mgr of GM accessories for the west coast) So it was affective immediately and he drove the GTO out there and that's where it is now. I am now getting a house with my brother, and because of that added expense a GTO would be out of my budget and unrealistic. A cobalt ss however could be feasible.

The vette is for sale still for 9,000 firm. If I dont sell it then i will just keep enjoying it. I have over 28k into it (paid 9,500 initially in california). New engine (29k miles) New Richmond Six Speed racing transmission, new centerforce clutch, new alternator, radiator, new starter, Full Borla Exhaust system, Z06 corvette tires. etc. etc. I will never make my money back on this car so If it doesn't sell for 9 then I will continue to enjoy it/make it nicer.

My cavalier was sold to a girl named Pam who lives here in michigan. She is well associated with a couple of people on these boards so im sure you'll be seeing pictures of it often.

Thanks again.

Technically yes, he got the car for 25K and I was going to buy it off of him, by him driving the car for 90 days I would have saved thousands. But again, having a new house expense, the GTO will be pushing my income to the limits, and I don't want to live like that.

Hopefully next time you pull your head out of your @ss and read what was already posted.

**I test drove a yellow Cobalt SS the other day (I hate the color) but Im more anxious than ever. I want to get one how I want it though and not rush it. I want a black with the red interior, and performance package.**

See you all at the bash, cobalt or not.

Borsty- We recieved the GTO already. When he started the new job he drove it to Cali. Rather than me buy that I'll just have him turn it in. He had it on what they call a "drive and buy" option, which is the best for getting the greatest discount.

I'd much rather have my own house than a GTO, but man that car was nice, the build quality was exceptional.

A littly of topic Borsty, but your generation trans am I remember when I was like 8 years old (1988) my dad brought home a grey one called the GTA, or GTZ or something I can't remember exactly, but man what a bad @ss lookin ride it was.

I agree with the earlier statement also about the c4 body style holding it's age also, I think the early C4 rear end looks more like the C6 than the c5 does! It'll be hard getting rid of my vette for anything less than 9, I love driving the rear wheel drive too much.

RKSport2003: It was most likely the GTA.

The Vette looks nice, that generation doesn't appeal to me all that much, but I gotta admit that it does look very, very nice. If I were in your shoes, I'd hold on to it and just make it work on the financial side. That's just me though... I've been trying like a bastard to get a GTO (see the thread Well, I've given up on the GTO) So I can see what you're saying about not being able to carry the extra vehicle. (ESP with gas prices going up at the speed of plaid)

Anyhow.. sweet ride

Looks great Brett. Those model Corvettes done appeal to me very much, but yours does a lot, maybe its the rims. Looks good.

Also, there is a Yellow SS in Grand Blanc now. What happened to the Black SS coming to Al Serra?

I like the vette! I dont really like those bodies all that muhc, but I think the wheels on it realyl make it look so much better!
If I were you, I woudl jsut keep the vette, you put so much into it, might as well enjoy it. And on top of that, you already own it, no payments have to be made on it right? If you get a cobalt, you'll probably love it, but you'll pay for it as well! I think the vette is nicer then the Cobalt and probably more fun to drive as well.....
Good luck with what you decide though!
