So the Head gasket went on my mothers Lumina it's a 96 ish? I believe.

Anyway long story short I usually take the cars to get fixed becuase alot of my buddies have shops that do great work.

So she took it to this garage, and they quoted her $2000 plus some change for a head gasket replacement. Any guys out there have a lumina or just know basic head gasket replecment pricing... because it seems a little high.

2k is a little high but a typical head gasket job will run around 1500 just because you have to tear down half the motor and replace alot of parts besides just the head gasket. then you have to send the head out to a machine shop to make sure its level and all.
