Bought a used HHR

Well, I was looking for a newer vehicle that had a good engine in it to make huge round trips 4+ times a year. So I picked up a 2009 Chevy HHR LT with 37k miles. The only down side was that it was a rental vehicle. For the price, and the size, this isn't that bad a vehicle. Cheaply built inside, that is one valid fact.

- 2009 Chevy HHR LT
- 37,800 miles
- 12 month / 12000 Mile B2B Warranty (CPO, and the only reason I would buy a rental)
- Power Train warranty until 2013
- $12,000 out the door

Can't beat that.

Get mud flaps and/or running boards asap. If not your rear quarters / fenders will be paint-less soon. They are probably pretty rough already.... I didn't listen and had to repaint the lower half of my HHR at about 40,000 miles. At that time I installed running boards and mud flaps.
If your lucky there is a technical service bulletin on "sand blasting" of lower rear quarters. GM "PAID" for painting my HHR, I paid for the running boards and Labor and mud flaps. I believe GM charged their lititure on this, and since it was a rental I think you SOL on this, per GM.

Don't 09's have 5 year 100,000 mile power-train warranty from GM?

Added PER GM:
Bumper-to-Bumper Limited Warranty: 3 Years/36,000 Miles
Powertrain/Drivetrain limited warranty: 5 Years/100,000 Miles
Rust Warranty: 6 Years/100,000 Miles
Roadside Assistance Program: 5 Years/100,000 Miles

I love my HHR, by the way, and congrats on the purchase. If the front end makes any weird clunking or squeaking noises when cold while driving over bumps it is the front swap bar end-links. I believe GM redesigned them in 09-10 sometime.
