mustang versus challenger versus camaro

thinking about maybe trading in the hhr ss for something else. this will mainly be for the wife. the one aspect we dont know about until we get out is to see if nolan will fit in the back that is probalby the biggest factor which the challenger seems like it may have th emost room. if we go with a mustang it would be a 07-10 gt model. if we go with the challenger it will possibly be an 11 model with the 300hp v6 since they currently have 0% financing. the camaro would have to be an lt or lt2 model around 08-10 model year. i love the camaros exterior but not real thrilled with the interior at all. i like the mustangs interior and the fact we can get the v8. i really like the looks of the charger and being able to afford a brand new one off the lot with 300 hp is enticing. but ive never owned a dodge. figure if anything we will likely only have it 4 years maybe before we traded it off for something else. so it would be under warranty the majority of time. lets here some thoughts.

If the 08+ mustangs are anytthing like all previous years, don't get it. Back seat space is at a minimum to say the least.

The challenger is the only one with a functional back seat, and its auto or auto.

The mustang has a "little" back seat, and the camaro has no real back seat to speak off.

I fit in the back of my buddy's gt500 but it was no comfortable venture, but I'm also 6'2ish, so that is something to take into consideration. Mustang, then Challenger, then Camaro IMO.

I drove my uncle's 2010 Camaro SS and I wasn't impressed. It was definitely the fastest car I've ever driven and my favorite looking of the bunch, but the manual transmission didn't feel good to me, the interior already had some rattles and felt cheap, and like said, there might as well not be a back seat. The windows are tiny, and the rear window slants so bad, I couldn't sit back there without slouching and leaning my head down; it was very uncomfortable when I rode in the back for a few blocks. And the windshield is also slanted and the pillars are so big, the car had crazy bad blind spots. It was a fun test drive, but I would never drive a camaro.

Just out of curiosity...why are you limiting yourself to vehicles with only 2 doors when you have the kid?

I have no signiture

Personal preference maybe? I am a person who has come to like a few 4-door vehicles, but I used to be 2-door only. Just how I like my cars to look, maybe he's the same?? My mom has had 2 door cars my entire(ENTIRE) life aside from one i can remember, and she got by fine... A little more trouble, but you don't need to get a big ugly car or mini van just because you have a kid.

not really limiting myself. went and drove a charger last night, we just really like those three cars. or well she does anyway. im leaning heavily to the challenger myself. im driving a trailblazer so we have the family car for trips and such. and we have been driving 4 doors since he was born and just want to change things up some. the challenger does seem to have the biggest space for him in the back, and if its as big as the charger(pretty sure interior size will be the same) it was very comfortable for my 6-4 body. mustand i know doesnt have as much room. havnt test driven the camaro yet. going to go test drive some challengers saturday. and hopefully see what we come up with. right now they are trying to get the 2010's off the lots so they have dropped the price on them by 3 grand and are offering 0% intrest for 60 months. really enticing. only downside is i kinda wanted the 2011 because they jumped up to a 300hp v6 instead of the 250 hp. but for the cost diffrence we can probalby get the 2010 and be paying less then what we are for the hhr. so thats a hard one to pass up. at the rate it seems to go with her cars is they last around 3 years and then we swap out for something new.

speaking of transformer one lot did have a yellow camaro decked out with transformer crap. speacial edition or so they say. they wanted like 40k for it lol.

i can fit in the back of a 2010 camaro no problem... as for people who cant see out of the car, i drop the seat all the way down and see perfect. i like the looks of them too. If i were getting one id get a synergy green v6 if i was in the v6 market for one. its still a 300hp v6

challenger looks good but its heavy. but def more room.

mustang like said no back seat what so ever.

Out of those three Mustang(biggest bang for the buck)>Challenger>Camaro(would be second but its the least practical for you)

I drove the old charger and loved it for what it is. The new Chargers look even better and I would like to drive one. Why not consider a Charger?

i like the chargers but there not offering 0% intrest right now for one and they start out a couple grand higher as a second fault. we are trying to keep the cost the same as the hhr so were not paying anymore out of pocket. and we had 0% intrest on the hhr as well. its not like its a need. its just a want.

Well i don't normally say this but the Genesis coupe has been out has some nice creature comforts and decent performance. I do like the new mustang due to it's size but the backseat sucks.

if it was my turn to pick and i was looking for something in that range a genesis would be a possible option. but she had a hyundayi a while back and it was a pos so even though i think there company has changed its still left a sour taste in her mouth.

Get a G8, its the same frame as the camaro and is basically a 4 door camaro, same engine choices, plenty of room, and a total steal for the price you can find them

I actually got a chance to sit in and tinker with a Genesis coupe... honestly, the interior was cheap/pasticy feeling, and closing the door alone felt very cheap and tinny. I couldn't believe it with all the praise and price of it. Hated the car from a quality standpoint.

what about the winter? i dont know about you're wife but mine would kill herself in a RWD in winter.

if need be she can drive the trailblazer. shes never really had an issue ddriving in winter. we dont gt a ton of snow. maybe a 6" or 10" dump once or twice a year. rest of the time its just lik 3" or so. not a big deal. g8's im seeing are around 23+ for the v6 models.

I've driven a new camaro and there great but visibility in the back kind of sucked. sure you could get used to it but it may be a little much. My suggestion would be a G8 or maybe a new lacrosse or regal even. Actually hell man, I've even check out some subaru legacys and imprezas. I wanted to buy a impreza so bad after totaling my car i just don't have enough money for it.

I'd say Challenger>Mustang>Camaro. I always said I would rather walk than drive a Ford, but I'll admit that a lot of there newer stuff is very nice and I'd take the Mustang over the Camaro. Out of the three I would definitely go for the Challenger though.

went and test drove a chalenger saturday. althought the power sucked on the v6 it wasn't horrible. we liked it. wanted to get it. talked to the salesmen about the 3 grand off. then asked him about the 0% financing and he goes. well you either get the 3 grand off the car or the 0% were not doign both. i was like wtf? the last two cars ive bought have all be at0% intrest and every dealeer has taken a few grand off the car. so i walked out. i hate when salesmen won't give me what i want. so i made a call to another dealership. and they did verify that i guess with dodge's deals right now they can do one or the other.so were looking at a loan with percentage points this time. kinda sucks. but talking with the dealer we got him to knock about 5 grand off the car to make up for the finance charge. so just have to see if they will give us payoff on the hhr ss and see what happens. funny things is that the timing belt on the hhr has slipped. new belt should be in monday to fix it so weve been telling the dealers that i lent the hhr to my sister, didnt want to walk intot a dealer with the check engine light on. tell them it needs a new timing belt then ask them to pay the loan off lol.

Hahaha that would probably be a good idea. So you pretty much have your heart set on a Challenger now?
