Beater/dd? Either way new (used) car inside
Monday, May 30, 2011 6:44 PM
So after 3 cars in the past few years, I finally found one worth keeping for a while with the g8. Add in seeing what one winter did to it, and me driving about 75 miles per day for work it was time to find something to drive in @!#$ty weather and to work.

I was weighting between suv for winter, taking the dog around, and home depot trips or a small fwd car for better mileage and decent winter performance.

After stupid lowball offers being placed in 6 or so calls, the choice was made for me when a dealer called me back after about 2 weeks and decided they wanted to sell this car.

06 Saab 9-7x, awd, leather, 5.3 v8, power, moonroof etc.. (yes it's a fancy trailblazer)

Sorry for the @!#$ty pics, it's been raining forever here.

So far wired in a 3.5mm jack, changed all the drivetrain fluids and cleaned and painted/undercoated the underside.

Nothing major planned for now, might cet a cat back for it only because the previous owner cobbled some @!#$ together under there for unknown reasons.

It needs a tune dammit. You'll give yourself years more life out of the tranny with a tranny tune and you'll get better gas mileage from a tune all around.

Paul told me all about you looking at one of these. I was all about it! It's different, nice, etc... But something about the Saab front end on that TB body I just don't like yet. It's that "omg this is so different and new to me" thing. not that it's ugly... it's just.... not normal to me yet lol.

On the other hand....you have other fingers.

Way better than a base TB IMO, and really close in price.

Smaller motor (this has the 5.3), but yeah, thats what sold it for me, fancy TBSS for about half the price..

The Aero has the ls2 in it like the TBSS though, but those are still $$

Thinking about it, but dont want to push my luck either, she had 90k on her now, but I figure eff it, if it breaks, I can fix it.

yeah, sometimes it looks like a minivan to me, but eff it, leather, awd, v8 and not hideous worked for me. Its like that face only a mother could love...
