Cortana Stage 1
Thursday, February 09, 2012 8:18 AM
Finally received the hood I ordered that was a little hard to find.
GM should have produced the cobalt with the SS hood. I don't know if I'm keeping it in carbon fiber or getting it painted. Still undecided.

Also, I got the GM stage 1 kit installed. Hoping to be in the low 13's and around 300 horses. Track next winter and dyno are in the plans.

on to the updated pictures...

Not feeling the Ss hood. I think a turbo sport style would have way better.

Not feeling the hood either, though I think stock style would have been better.

ive yet to see a hood on a balt i actually REALLY liked besides stock but this one is probably one of the higher up's on my list i suppose.

id say leave the hood carbon though. it looks good. especially with that color..

id dtich the decals. takes away from the clean look.

I think the hood would work no problem but it's the headlights that throw it off and make it not look right. They don't flow with the hood.

Maybe some eyelids would help make the headlights out. I love ss/Tc though.

I dont think it looks bad, maybe paint the hood but leave the ss scoop in carbon fiber and get some black housing headlights.

I like it. It's not really over the top and all riced out... which is a good thing. lol. I do agree with the darker headlight comments above. I also see that the hood light can use a small adjustment forward... if it could be adjusted... It might just be me going crazy as well.

The hood does not look bad, but stock looks good also.

I would paint the hood color of the car.

It's not terrible. Makes sense tho. SS style on a SS.

I like, you have any issues ae speeds with the hood rattling since its a straight shot for air into tthe scoop?

thanks. and suprisingly no. fastest i've gone is 100 on the interstate to test rattle noise and visual movement. minimal movement and no noise
friend who had a vader or invader (which ever it is) had plenty of noise and movement but not bad. still, he had to get hood pins to help
hope i never have to use hood pins. so ricer imo

Gotcha, i was asking because I opened my turbosport hood up in the scoop to direct air on the turbo instead of to where the stock airbox is like the turbosport was meant. Ya I cant stand hood pins either. I didnt need pins with my invader trapping 110, hopefully I do not need em with this hood.

Was referencing the external BOV and the MAF still being located in the intake. Typically skews ratios and makes tuning impossible.

If your car isn't running right, that would be why. Just looking out for you.

i've had the setup for 60,000 miles and it has always run well. other SS/TC guys have had check engine lights but not me thankfully
thanks for looking out Joe. always awesome rides in your garage huh
