Let me know if this works. I wouldn't mind ditching the warning lights.

For all of you 00+ owners, what does the BCM look like and where is it located?

Its a small black box with 3 plugs located in the drivers side kick panel

Okay, so what I need to do is the following, correct?

1. Do a "Write Entire" of a '00 S/C Reflash File
2. Buy a '00+ Cluster & BCM
3. Wiring Crap

I know that there must be wires going from the BCM to the gauge cluster. But where does the BCM gets its info from? The ECU? If so, will the '99 ECU wire up to the '00+ BCM?

Is there a certain year BCM and gauge cluster that it must be? Do the cluster and BCM have to have matching ID's?

I have the 2000+ computer in my car. I DO NOT know how it was wired up in my car as i bought the car with it done. BUT i can tell you things NOT to do that ive had to fix.

Get the complete wiring harness headlights to taillights and rewire the whole car. Its the easiest most effective way to do the swap.

Other then that ask ?s and i may be able to answer them

Sorry but I can't see how rewiring the whole car is easier. The only thing that doesn't work is my tach and ect gauge. The warning lights are on but it doesn't matter. Why would I rewire my whole car when only my instrument cluster is a problem?

a good POC would be John Higgens. he as done it to older cars 99 older, for the eco swap. same thing but with the better Iron motor.

I'm looking at the wiring diagrams from my service manual for a 99 cavalier. If someone has the PCM connector wiring assignment codes and descriptions for a 2000 cavalier 2.4l, it wouldn't be hard to figure out how to make the BCM and instrument cluster work.

What I need is the descriptions, ie:

C1-01-C1-05=not used
C1-06-black-2759=fuel Tank Pressure Sensor Ground
C1-07-brn/white-633+CMP Sensor Signal
and so on...........for a 2000 cavalier 2.4l

Worst case scenario I'll by the manual myself.

Also, this information is located in the service manual under engine controls - 2.4L, 6-917 to 6-920.

I can explain this. If you were to buy a harness out of a 2000+ car and swap it in your car it is a direct plug and play swap. No finding certain wires, and cutting splicing, or re-pinning. It does not take long to pull the wiring out of a J, and then put the new wiring in. So yes it is easier. Also doing that way if you have a problem down the road you do not have to worry if it is related to cutting, or repinning you did.

I need that diagram to get my fuel level guage working actually the whole 2002 wiring diagram for a cav would be great so that i could fix some of my wiring issues from when Nick wired the car up.

Fair enough. I'll let you know how easy it is to only change the BCM and instrument cluster when I'm done.

I'm going to the boneyard this weekend to grab a BCM wiring and instrument cluster. In the meantime if anyone has time to post the wiring diagram for the BCM that would be great!!!!!

John is JS doesn't want it. How much for the BCM harness? Will the 2200 BCM work with the 2.4? I assume yes........
