I've got the power supply designed up, I'm waiting on yet some more parts from Mouser before I can actually start writing code. Unfortunately I can't do much work on them without buying a decent JTAG interface, but luckily my work will be purchasing two such $4,500.00 JTAG interfaces, one of which I will be using on this project. This weekend I did a lot of work on design, and I'm getting ready to send the schematics to a board manufacturer as soon as I can get them finalized.
Things are moving along nicely, at about the rate I had hoped they'd move, so I'm still on schedule.

which JTAG did you go with?
it is damn expensive, but test plan generation keeps R&D time down.

Hey shifted, i see you were looking for someone to manufature the boards. I can take care of that part for you. I have autocad software for board designs, and a manufacture that will do them at very good rates. As long as you can supply a full schematic of what you want, and any physical constraints, L x W , I can do the rest.

Here is a screen shot of a small board i recently did, this is a knock sensor decoding circuit, it will take the knock sensors signal, process and digitize it, and flash a dash mounted LED when knock is detected. it will also serve as an input to the megasquirt to datalog knock ativity.

okay, that will work.
also, the software can do multiplain boards, and SMD components. they cannot be order with parts installed, either you or i would have to do that. I do not have the equipment to solder SMD components, but i can do standard discrete components. thats if your also looking for someone to assemble.

The processor is the only smd part so far. I'm trying to find a socket for it, but as it stands, that would add more than $75 to the cost of the board. I'm talking with Schmartboard to do the actual production, because they can add reflow solder pads for the SMD components. They can do board design, but its an added cost. What program are you using for design?

i like it becuase it has an automatic trace routing function. you place all the components on the board, tell it what components are suppose to be hooked to each other, and it auto generates the traces on the board.
