how are the pins seated in the connector? are they able to be extracted? I didn't look at the PCM plugs closely enough when I did my swap to see what sort of pins they used.

Any newer laptop will be able to run it, nothing special would be needed.

The pins are soldered to the board, unfortunately.

Are you going to run this with a USB or a DB9 port? I'm having trouble running a DB9 adapter from my Tec3 to my laptop.

I'll take a look at what I got, and the 50 million connector catalogs at work, see if I can come up with something.

Ron..

GM does manual transmission gear ratio detection with simple algorithm... engine speed / vss speed, then check result in programmable lookup table. I've modified OBDI $58 code to increase boost levels if detected gear > 2nd.

Hey Shifted,

Did you need any money from us folks to keep this project going forward. I am down to throw $5 bucks your way. I know its not much but if a bunch of folks do it... It could add up rather quickly. If that is cool with you then hook us up with your PayPal email address.

Thanks Slow, I'll look into it.

Darryn-

I make a LOT of money, its just going slow because I didn't anticipate having to move this month and starting a huge project at work, but its still moving forward.

I have a development kit and I'm still converting code. I wasn't expecting to move this month so it put a dent in my time to work on it.

Very interesting project. Hopefully the wife will let me experiment when you release the working model.
I'm getting tired of waiting for Diablo to come out with a handheld, and don't have the time to deal with HP right now.

Its all still coming along, just taking a little longer to get some of the schematics done. I work with electronics and circuits all day long, but I've never done a PCB so I'm learning how to make the traces, all about isolation and bus widths, board layout, etc.

Re: Coming soon...

Sweet! So what is the new ETA? Any guestimation on price. I need to know how much to save.

One last concern, will this unit be set up in such a manner that when I take it in for emissions testing and they plug the car into the OBD2 port will my car still say that it is a 04 cavalier and have my vin? I can tune it to pass the emissions but I dont know what I would need to do to trick the emissions computer if this new VCM is not OBD2 compliant.

Purhaps that question is too soon to be asked. Either way the NM emissions computers look for the cars year, make, model, RPM, and any check engine lights. The rest is done with the sniffer.

Thank you.

Darryn
