John - Sure do. Pm me with the details for the BCM and the cluster. Thanks.

Shifted - Way cool move. As usual, thanks for your help.

-MD- LD9 - Big props for taking the time to post the necessary info. Thanks again.

In my mind this exemplifies what this forum is all about. People with similar interests and goals working together to 4 bang the hell out of everyone, all night all long.

Cheers

That is true, but he never tuned for the ADDED boost. Its not the setups fault, its the lack of a proper tune for THAT much boost.

Anyone else successfully do a write-entire on their '99 without killing the ECU?

No, I didn't try it yet. Talked to Shifted and he said its possible that it may not work. He knows of another person with a '99 that killed his, but wasn't sure if it was ECU related or if his battery voltage was too low and lost connection. I'm kind of aprehensive to try it...

I believe it should work. The ECM's are the SAME.

Okay, I've got a problem. I did a write entire of the '00+ S/C reflash file. I plugged in the 2 bar MAP sensor and tried to start it. No go. Just cranked and cranked. Got it to pop off once, but sputtered and died. Plugged in the 1 bar MAP and it started and ran perfectly. I double checked the MAP sensors to be sure I had the right ones, and I did. Any idea why it won't run with the 2 bar MAP plugged in?

Ughhh....stupid mistake. I didn't realize that my injector constant would change due to the '00 reflash. Turns out that it is based off of the 310cc injectors with a constant of .32359 After using that info, i calculated my injector constant and it turned out to be .22798 for the reflash compared to .12350 for the '99 file. BIG difference Changed the constant and it runs perfect. Made some runs and it pulls pretty good with a constant AFR of around 11.3 It dips down to 10.4 when the alky kicks in, so I have to tweak that a bit. Plus timing is pulled to around 18* . I'll play with that a bit. But otherwise, I can live with the warning lights. It runs PERFECT now!! I may buy a tach for the time being until I can get a '00 gauge cluster working. I miss my tach :-( Otherwise it is awesome.

Will do. I was kind of disappointed how slow it feels. Just seems like a lot of power is being pulled.

Yes I blew my motor, however it had nothing to do with the supercharger reflash in my 99 ecu. I was running 10 P.S.I. at 11.7-11.9 a/f. Affer running a 13.3 at 109mph at the track I got to pumped and cranked up the boost without modifying my 180-200 kpa ve tables. End result was 13.5 a/f and a connecting rod out the side of the block.

All that aside, I'm very pleased that I can tune up to 14.7 P.S.I. and next time I will.........

you "may" like my timing tables......

the stock GM tune is VERY SAFE. somting like 12* avd. my curent tune is stock fuel tables, LSJ injectors and alot of time on the timing side. next is taking fule away.... im hiting 10's or so.

Wow, glad you got it to work... So you did everything JS did to get this to work? I could live without the tach for a while as well if it lets me get a good tune.. Also, on my auto, would it matter if I got a auto or manual GM flash file?

Thanks.

David you need a auto tune.
When you find one please send it my way.
All the GM m45 tunes I found floating around are manual tunes.

I've got one...but I can't verify that it's the S/C one. When I compare it to the GM S/C manual file, EVERYTHING is different. VE tables, spark tables, everything. I'm not sure if you could just copy the tables from the manual file and paste them to te auto file and have it work. Hopefully someone else can chime in.

Here is a link to the file:

^^That's where I got the one that I just posted. Shifted, can you verify why all the values for the auto tune are different than the ones for the manual tune?

What do you mean "all the values"?

Which values specifically? There's more to tuning an auto car versus a manual car than the transmission tables. The VE, Spark, and other tables are all offset due to the dynamics of the engine mated to either an auto or manual. Just like a J-Body LD9 auto tune is different from a N-Body LD9 auto tune, the engine is set up for the stuff that its connected to.

Gotcha. I didn't realize that VE tables, spark tables, etc. were different depending on 5 speed or auto. I've only worked on 5 speed cars, so I didn't know that there was a difference.

Are you opening it in WordPad or something? It opens fine in HPT for me. And that file BTW is from HPTuners file repository. Should be the correct '00+ reflash auto file.
